Role Description The Assistant Professor of History will teach undergraduate courses, design syllabi, and deliver lectures in areas such as World History, American History, and related subjects, with a focus on supporting students preparing for civil services and other competitive exams. Responsibilities include conducting assessments, guiding student projects, advising learners on academic progress, and integrating historical perspectives into the institution's interdisciplinary programs. The role involves participating in curriculum development, contributing to academic committees, and engaging in scholarly activities such as research, seminars, and workshops. The Assistant Professor will also mentor students in analytical thinking, historical research methods, and exam-oriented content. This is a full-time, on-site position located in Bengaluru South.
Qualifications
- Strong subject expertise in World History and American History, with the ability to connect historical concepts to contemporary issues and civil services preparation.
- Experience or demonstrated potential in Curriculum Development, particularly for undergraduate programs aligned with competitive examinations.
- Background in University Teaching, including lesson planning, student assessment, and the use of learner-centric pedagogical methods.
- Knowledge of Art History and related fields that enrich interdisciplinary teaching and broaden students historical perspectives.
- Relevant postgraduate degree (e.g., MA or PhD in History or a closely related discipline) from a recognized university; eligibility as per applicable academic and regulatory norms.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage diverse learners and support exam-oriented and conceptual learning.
