Position Overview:
The Assistant Professor in Biotechnology will contribute to teaching, research, and academic development in modern biological sciences. The role involves delivering quality education in biotechnology-related subjects, mentoring students, supporting research initiatives, and contributing to the institute's academic and institutional development.
Key Responsibilities:
A. Teaching and Academic Instruction
- Teach undergraduate courses in Biotechnology and related disciplines.
- Conduct lectures and laboratory practicals
- Prepare lesson plans, laboratory manuals, and digital teaching materials.
- Implement innovative teaching methods including ICT-enabled learning and outcome-based education.
B. Curriculum Development
- Contribute to curriculum design and revision in alignment with institutional and national educational policies.
C. Research and Scholarly Activities
- Conduct independent and collaborative research in biotechnology-related areas.
- Publish research papers in peer-reviewed journals and present findings in scientific conferences.
- Participate in research projects and seek external funding opportunities.
D. Student Mentorship
- Guide students in laboratory work, research projects, and internships.
- Provide academic and career counselling.
- Encourage participation in scientific competitions, seminars, and innovation activities.
E. Laboratory and Infrastructure Management
- Assist in maintaining biotechnology laboratories and equipment.
- Ensure laboratory safety standards and proper utilization of resources.
F. Evaluation and Academic Administration
- Prepare question papers, assignments, and internal assessments.
- Evaluate student performance through examinations, viva voce, and project evaluations.
- Participate in departmental and institutional committees.
G. Institutional and Extension Activities
- Organize workshops, seminars, and training programs in biotechnology.
- Contribute to outreach and extension activities of the institute.
Minimum Required Qualification:
P.hd. in Biotechnology/Microbiology or M.Sc. Biotechnology/Microbiology with GSET/NET qualification
