Role Description The Assistant Professor (Mechanical Engineering) will be responsible for delivering undergraduate and postgraduate courses, preparing lesson plans, and conducting classroom and laboratory sessions in Mechanical Engineering subjects. Daily responsibilities include guiding students in areas such as solid mechanics, heat transfer, and robotics, supervising projects, mentoring students, and supporting academic advising. The role involves designing and updating course curricula, participating in departmental meetings, contributing to accreditation and quality assurance activities, and engaging in collaborative initiatives within the institution. The Assistant Professor is expected to pursue scholarly research, publish in relevant journals, and participate in conferences and seminars. This is a full-time, on-site role based at CT Group of Institutions in Jalandhar.
Qualifications
  • Ability to design, review, and implement Mechanical Engineering curricula, demonstrating strong Curriculum Development skills aligned with institutional and accreditation standards.
  • Subject-matter expertise in Robotics and related mechanical systems, with the capacity to teach, supervise laboratory work, and guide student projects in this domain.
  • Strong foundation in core Mechanical Engineering areas such as Heat Transfer and Solid Mechanics, with experience in applying these concepts in teaching, labs, and project supervision.
  • Demonstrated Research skills, including conducting studies in Mechanical Engineering, publishing in peer-reviewed journals, and participating in academic conferences.
  • Relevant academic qualifications, typically a Master's degree (M.E./M.Tech) in Mechanical Engineering; a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering or related field is highly desirable.
  • Effective teaching, presentation, and communication skills, with the ability to engage diverse learners and use modern pedagogical and assessment methods.
  • Experience or familiarity with laboratory management, industry-oriented projects, and the integration of emerging technologies into mechanical engineering education.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary academic environment, contribute to departmental initiatives, and uphold ethical and inclusive educational practices.
