Job Description

Candidate Profile:

The ideal candidate will be a fitness and wellness educator with strong practical knowledge of exercise, functional anatomy, nutrition and healthy lifestyle practices.

The candidate should be comfortable moving between the classroom and practical training environment and should be capable of translating scientific concepts into simple, practical and engaging learning experiences.

A candidate with experience as a Fitness Trainer, Exercise Specialist, Sports Nutritionist, Physical Education professional or Wellness Educator, combined with academic teaching capability, would be particularly suitable.

Preferred Experience

2–5 years of teaching, training or professional industry experience in one or more of the following:

  • Fitness training
  • Exercise science
  • Physical education
  • Nutrition education
  • Sports nutrition
  • Wellness
  • Personal training
  • Health and lifestyle education

Candidates with a combination of academic teaching and practical fitness-industry experience will be preferred.

Educational Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline may be considered for candidates with substantial professional fitness experience and appropriate industry certifications.

  • Knowledge of exercise physiology and fitness principles.
  • Ability to demonstrate exercises correctly.

  • Understanding of cardiovascular conditioning.
  • Knowledge of stretching and mobility.
  • Ability to design basic fitness programmes.
  • Good communication and presentation skills.
  • Classroom and practical-session management.
  • Student mentoring skills.
  • Ability to use digital teaching tools.
  • Evidence-based approach to health and fitness information.
