Role Description The Assistant Professor – Computer Applications role is a full-time, on-site position based at the Pyramid College campus in Phagwara. The role involves planning and delivering lectures, labs, and tutorials in computer applications and related areas, using contemporary teaching methods and tools. The faculty member will design and update course materials, contribute to curriculum development, assess student performance, and provide academic mentoring and guidance. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting examinations, supervising projects, participating in departmental meetings, engaging in research or scholarly activities, and contributing to accreditation and quality assurance processes. The role also includes collaborating with colleagues on academic initiatives, organizing seminars or workshops, and supporting student activities that strengthen industry readiness.

Qualifications

  • Strong foundation in Computer Science, with the ability to teach core concepts in computer applications and related disciplines.
  • Expertise in Programming and practical software development, including the ability to guide students in coding, debugging, and project work.
  • Knowledge of Information Technology systems and applications, with the capacity to relate theory to current industry practices.
  • Understanding of Cybersecurity principles and practices, enabling the delivery of relevant, up-to-date content in security-related topics.
  • Experience in Curriculum Development, including designing syllabi, learning outcomes, and assessment methods aligned with academic standards and industry needs.
  • Relevant postgraduate degree (e.g., MCA, M.Sc. Computer Science, M.Tech in Computer Science/IT) from a recognized institution; Ph.D. or ongoing doctoral work is an advantage.
  • Prior teaching or academic experience at the college or university level is preferred, with evidence of effective classroom management and student engagement.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly to diverse learners.
  • Commitment to student mentoring, academic integrity, and continuous professional development, including staying current with emerging technologies.
  • Ability to collaborate with colleagues, contribute to departmental initiatives, and participate in research, consultancy, or outreach activities.
