About the Position:

CEPT Foundation Program is envisioned to achieve excellence in the skills, abilities, and capacities required by first-year students while ensuring that they also have a strong work ethic. The program is premised on the understanding that engaging with built environments requires an in-depth understanding of one's areas of expertise and the ability to dialogue. CEPT University invites applications for the position of Assistant Professor positions for reading and writing courses in the CEPT Foundation Program, CEPT University. These courses are aimed at building students abilities in reading and writing.

The positions are intended for individuals committed to pursuing an academic career, who possess teaching experience and whose creative work in academic study, research work, professional practice, or a combination thereof demonstrates strong potential for continued academic contribution.

The appointment of Assistant Professor and Academic Associate is a Full-time position for a three - year period but may be extended for another three-year term following a review process. The position is open to candidates from any location.

Roles and responsibilities:

1. Conduct foundation studios for interdisciplinary student batches (Architecture, Planning, Technology, and Design disciplines).
2. Contribute to curriculum refinement and the development of innovative teaching and learning materials for foundation-level education.
3. Coordinate documentation, curation, and exhibition of student work and academic outputs.
4. Prepare and administer admission examination papers, and coordinate the admissions assessment process for progression into the institution after the first year.
5. Ensure consistency and parity in student performance evaluation through oversight of grading, result processing, grievance redressal, and remedial/extra teaching support.
6. Lead the conceptualization, coordination, and delivery of the sketching component within the curriculum.
7. Participating in the development of teaching and learning materials.
8. Facilitate effective communication and alignment across academic units, while representing individual units in curriculum planning and development initiatives.

Minimum Eligibility Criteria:

[A] Minimum Experience and Qualification required for Assistant Professor position:

A relevant Bachelor's Degree in Design and Architectureof minimum 4 years with minimum 8 years of total experience in professional practice, teaching, and research, or a combination thereof.

OR

A relevant Master's Degree in the relevant field like Urban Design, Interaction Design, etc. is preferredwith minimum 5 years of total experience in professional practice, teaching, and research, or a combination thereof.

OR

A relevant Doctoral Degree (Those in the final stage of their PhD may also apply)

[B] Minimum Experience and Qualification required for Academic Associate position:

A relevant Bachelor's Degree in Design and Architectureof minimum 4 yearswith minimum 5 years of total experience in professional practice, teaching, and research, or a combination thereof.

OR

A relevant Master's Degree in the relevant field like Urban Design, Interaction Design, etc. is preferredwith minimum 3 years of total experience in professional practice, teaching, and research, or a combination thereof.

OR

A relevant Doctoral Degree (Those in the final stage of their PhD may also apply)

Expertise required:

1. Demonstrated excellence in academic study, professional practice, or research through their primary academic/professional endeavours in related disciplinary pursuits.
2. Ability to integrate innovative teaching and mentoring approaches within an evolving pedagogical framework.
3. Ability to mentor and guide first-year students with patience, persistence, and a strong commitment to academic quality.
4. Alignment with student-centric and pedagogy-driven teaching approaches for foundation-level education.
5. Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills, including both visual and written communication.
6. Proficiency in relevant software applications, including MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator), AutoCAD, and SketchUp.
7. Demonstrate ability to integrate professional best practices into teaching and learning processes.
