Role Description This is a full-time, on-site role based in Gangtok for an Assistant Professor in Physiotherapy (Cardio & Sports). The role involves delivering lectures, practical sessions, and tutorials in cardiopulmonary and sports physiotherapy, aligned with the university's curriculum and regulatory standards. The faculty member will design lesson plans, develop teaching materials, and assess learner performance through assignments, practical exams, and viva voce. Responsibilities include supervising clinical postings, guiding students in case discussions, research projects, and evidence-based practice. The role also includes mentoring learners, participating in curriculum development, contributing to academic quality assurance, engaging in scholarly activities, and supporting university outreach and industry-collaboration initiatives.
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Physiotherapy (MPT) with specialization in Cardiopulmonary and/or Sports Physiotherapy from a recognized institution; PhD or enrollment in a doctoral program is an advantage.
- Strong theoretical and practical knowledge in cardiopulmonary rehabilitation, exercise physiology, sports injury prevention, on-field management, and therapeutic exercise.
- Demonstrated ability to teach, mentor, and assess undergraduate and/or postgraduate physiotherapy learners using student-centered and competency-based approaches.
- Experience or aptitude in clinical supervision, including case documentation, treatment planning, and application of evidence-based practice in cardio and sports physiotherapy settings.
- Good academic writing, presentation, and communication skills, with the ability to develop teaching materials, case studies, and assessment tools.
- Interest or experience in research, publication, and participation in conferences, workshops, or continuing professional development activities.
- Familiarity with skill-based education models, outcome-based education, or collaboration with healthcare institutions, sports academies, or industry will be beneficial.
- Ability to work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams, maintain professional ethics, and contribute to institutional development activities.
