Role Description The Assistant Merchandiser role is a full-time, on-site position based in New Delhi. This role supports senior merchandisers in managing product development and order execution, coordinating with factories, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure timely sampling, approvals, and production. Daily responsibilities include tracking orders and timelines, preparing and updating tech packs and product sheets, maintaining accurate data in merchandising systems, and following up on fabric, trims, and other raw material status. The Assistant Merchandiser will communicate regularly with brand clients on sample progress, pricing, and delivery schedules, while assisting with market and trend research and basic costing activities. The role also involves working closely with quality and logistics teams to help ensure shipments meet specifications and reach destinations on schedule.

Qualifications

  • Strong communication and customer service skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams, factories, and international clients.
  • An understanding of fashion merchandising, consumer preferences, and commercial requirements.
  • Marketing awareness, including basic knowledge of brand positioning, product presentation, and market trends in apparel.
  • Detail-oriented approach to data management, documentation, and follow-up on orders, samples, and production milestones.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (especially Excel), email communication, and basic merchandising software or ERP tools.
  • Ability to work on-site in New Delhi, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Educational background in fashion, textiles, merchandising, business, or a related field is preferred.
  • Prior internship or experience of 2 years in apparel sourcing, merchandising, or garment production is essential.
