Location: Mumbai HO
Function: Media Services / Digital & Marketing Capabilities


Role Purpose
The Assistant Media Manager is responsible for delivering integrated, insight led, ROI oriented media planning for assigned categories.


This role partners closely with brand teams, media agencies, digital platforms, influencer partners, and internal excellence capabilities to build best in class media strategies and flawless execution across Traditional, Digital, Social, and Influencer ecosystems.


The individual must demonstrate strong analytical skills, digital fluency, and the ability to translate brand objectives into actionable media plans backed by data, audience insights, and HUL's proprietary planning capabilities (e.g., Sangam, Rapid ROI).

Key Responsibilities


1. Integrated Media Strategy & Planning
. Lead development of integrated media plans (TV + Digital + Social + Influencer + Commerce) for a category.
. Translate brand/category objectives into sharp audience, platform, and channel strategies.
. Leverage Sangam, Rapid ROI, and effectiveness frameworks to guide investment optimisation.
. Build future ready media touchpoints that reflect evolving consumer behaviour and platform trends.


2. Media Deployment & Execution
. Work with media agencies to ensure precise and timely execution of campaigns across platforms.
. Manage campaign hygiene: targeting, pacing, brand safety, viewability, frequency, and creative rotations.
. Drive digital-first deployment across Meta, Google, YouTube, Programmatic, OTT and Social channels.


3. Digital, Social & Influencer Leadership
. Recommend platform appropriate digital strategies, formats, and audiences.
. Support influencer strategy, creator selection, content briefing, and amplification plans.
. Track creative and content performance and ensure continuous optimisation loops.


4. Measurement, Analytics & Reporting
. Evaluate campaigns using platform analytics, Rapid ROI and internal measurement tools.
. Deliver clear, action oriented post campaign evaluations and category learning decks.
. Identify ROI improvement opportunities, efficiency gains, and audience impact insights.


5. Stakeholder & Agency Management
. Build strong collaboration with brand teams, category leads, media agencies, creators, and platform partners.
. Ensure agencies deliver high quality outputs aligned with HUL standards and category priorities.
. Work cross functionally with creative, digital, consumer insights, and commerce teams.


6. Governance, Compliance & Process Excellence
. Ensure adherence to Unilever Media Principles, Brand Safety, Quality standards, and DPDP/data governance norms.
. Support budget tracking, auditing, pacing reviews, and adherence to financial processes.
. Bring innovation, platform updates, and capability-sharing to the BU.

Candidate Profile


Qualifications
. MBA in Marketing, Media, Communications or equivalent preferred.

Experience & Skills

. Prior media planning/activation experience (agency or advertiser) with 7 to 10 yrs of work exp.

. Strong understanding of both traditional and digital media.
. Working knowledge of major digital platforms (Meta, YouTube, Google, Programmatic, OTT).
. Exposure to influencer/content marketing is a plus.
. Strong analytical and numerical skills ability to interpret data and derive insights.
. Excellent coordination, stakeholder management, and communication skills.
. High attention to detail, process orientation, and ability to manage multiple brands simultaneously.
. Comfort with AI enabled tools, measurement dashboards and automation workflows is advantageous.
