Position Overview
World Monuments Fund India (WMFI) is seeking a motivated and experienced professional to support and oversee multiple heritage conservation projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in architectural conservation and site management, with excellent organizational, communication, and stakeholder coordination skills. This role involves close collaboration and reporting to WMFI's Project Manager and various consultants, contractors, and community stakeholders to ensure the smooth execution of on-site works while upholding WMFI's conservation standards.
Qualifications & Skills
• Master's degree in Conservation or Heritage Management.
• 5+ years experience in conservation of historic buildings.
• Familiarity with heritage conservation practices, traditional materials, and site challenges.
• Experience in managing multi-stakeholder projects, including site-level coordination and documentation.
• Strong project management skills, including budget tracking and coordination.
• Excellent presentation-making skills and ability to clearly communicate project ideas and progress to diverse stakeholders.
• Proficient in AutoCAD, MS Office Suite; knowledge of project management tools is an advantage.
• Excellent communication skills (verbal and written); ability to prepare clear and concise documentation.
• Fluency in English; working knowledge of Hindi is preferred.
Key Responsibilities
1. Project Oversight & Coordination:
• Oversee day-to-day site operations across multiple heritage conservation projects across India.
• Track progress and monitor quality of work on site, ensuring adherence to conservation standards and project specifications.
• Ensure health and safety compliance, quality control across all project sites.
2. Assist WMFI Project Manager in:
• Reviewing and verifying monthly progress reports.
• Coordinate with local stakeholders and project teams (conservation consultants, site architects, and executing contractors) to ensure timely and collaborative execution.
• Assist in defining project timelines, budgets, MoUs, scope of work, and financial bids.
• Support in checking contractor bills and material verification on site.
• Prepare and maintain detailed site documentation reports, including minutes of meetings, progress reports, and photographic records.
3. Community Engagement & Capacity Building:
• Conduct and facilitate community engagement activities on WMF projects.
• Assist in organizing training programs and workshops for conservation professionals, workers, and community groups.
