Your Impact
You will play a pivotal role within McKinsey's global Tax Group, a team tasked with shaping and managing the firm's tax strategy and risk across the 70 countries where McKinsey operates.
This group works in close partnership with various firm functions, including Payroll, Benefits, Accounting and Finance, Legal, and Human Resources, as well as external advisors, to ensure seamless integration and alignment.
You will partner with internal stakeholders to ensure accurate payroll tax calculations, reporting, and compliance for colleagues on international transfers and mobility. This involves close collaboration to maintain regulatory standards across different regions.
You will serve as the primary contact for stakeholder groups. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring smooth communication, addressing inquiries, and maintaining strong working relationships.
You will supervise and mentor junior team members, dedicating your time to guide their professional development. By doing so, you will help foster a collaborative and growth-oriented work environment where everyone can thrive.
You will manage vendor deliverables, which includes taking direct responsibility for the accurate and timely delivery of compensation packs.
You will support the implementation of automation and efficiency opportunities. This means you will actively help identify areas where processes can be streamlined and assist in rolling out new solutions to improve our overall workflow.
Your Qualifications and Skills
- An excellent academic background, including a recognized tax or accounting qualification
- 4+ years of experience in the management of mobility tax affairs of senior executives and related social security/payroll withholding issues, gained either in accounting practice or in-house in a large multinational corporation
- Experience ideally includes managing employer compliance risk and efficiency improvements for employee tax, social security and other regulations
- Outstanding tax and problem-solving skills, with the ability to help design and implement workable tax operational processes
- Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues at all levels across various countries while independently managing multiple projects
- Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical issues to diverse stakeholders
