Job Description

Objective:

To manage and execute laboratory testing activities for Low Voltage Switchgear and Wiring Devices at the R&D Innovation Centre, ensuring compliance with IS/IEC standards, maintaining lab quality systems, and supporting product validation, safety, and continuous improvement through effective lab operations and crossfunctional collaboration.

Key responsibilities:

•Conduct routine, type, and special testing of Low Voltage Switchgear and Wiring Devices as per applicable IS/IEC standards.

•Manage day-to-day lab operations, including manpower planning, workload distribution, and lab discipline.

•Ensure implementation and compliance of Lab QMS, NABL readiness, and internal/external audit preparation.

•Oversee calibration, Gauge R&R, and preventive maintenance of lab equipment as per AMC schedules.

•Analyze test results, prepare and review test reports, and ensure proper documentation and record retention.

•Coordinate with Design, Quality, and Product Development teams for test planning, validation, and issue resolution.

•Perform root cause analysis (RCA) for test failures and support corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).

Train lab technicians, develop SOPs, and drive continuous improvement and lab efficiency projects.

Experience and Qualification:

•Diploma or Degree in Electrical Engineering with strong fundamentals in electrical products and testing standards.

8–10 years of experience in laboratory testing of Low Voltage Switchgear and Wiring Devices as per IS/IEC standards, preferably in a NABLcompliant lab environment.
