Job Description

  • Develop, implement, and evaluate student welfare policies, programs, and initiatives aligned with the institution's vision and regulatory requirements.
  • Promote a positive campus culture that supports student well-being, inclusion, respect, and holistic development.
  • Provide guidance and support to students facing personal, academic, emotional, behavioural, or social challenges.
  • Identify students requiring additional support and coordinate timely interventions with counsellors, faculty, hostel wardens, healthcare providers, and external agencies.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for student welfare concerns, ensuring timely resolution and appropriate follow-up.
  • Manage student grievances, complaints, disciplinary matters, and conflict resolution in accordance with institutional policies.
  • Coordinate mental health awareness campaigns, wellness programs, orientation sessions, and preventive initiatives that encourage healthy lifestyles and resilience.
  • Organize workshops, seminars, and awareness programs on life skills, stress management, emotional well-being, anti-ragging, anti-bullying, gender sensitization, substance abuse prevention, and responsible digital citizenship.
  • Collaborate with student clubs, societies, committees, alumni, and academic departments to enhance student engagement and leadership development.
  • Support the planning and execution of major student events, cultural festivals, convocation, orientation, leadership programs, and community engagement initiatives.
  • Coordinate with residential life and hostel teams to ensure student safety, well-being, and a positive residential experience.
  • Maintain confidential student records, welfare cases, intervention plans, and reports while ensuring compliance with privacy and data protection policies.
  • Ensure compliance with institutional policies related to student welfare, safeguarding, anti-ragging, sexual harassment prevention, equal opportunity, and student conduct.
  • Support crisis management, emergency response, and critical incident handling involving students.
  • Liaise with parents or guardians, where appropriate, to facilitate effective student support.
  • Prepare reports, dashboards, and data-driven insights on student welfare activities, engagement metrics, and program outcomes.
  • Work closely with academic and administrative departments to improve the overall student experience and retention.
  • Continuously assess student needs through surveys, feedback mechanisms, and analytics, and recommend improvements to welfare programs.
