Assistant Manager - Stores

Location - Sriperumbudur, Chennai

Key Responsibilities

Stores

• Manage material receipt, storage, issue, and dispatch.
• Maintain accurate inventory records in SAP/ERP.
• Perform stock verification and cycle counting.
• Ensure FIFO practices and proper material identification.
• Monitor stock levels and coordinate replenishment requirements.
• Maintain housekeeping, safety, and audit compliance in stores.

Purchase

• Float RFQs and obtain supplier quotations.
• Prepare commercial comparisons and purchase recommendations.
• Create and track Purchase Orders in SAP/ERP.
• Follow up with suppliers for timely deliveries.
• Coordinate with vendors on material availability and delivery schedules.
• Support vendor evaluation and sourcing activities.

Preferred Profile

• Manufacturing industry experience.
• Strong understanding of inventory control and procurement processes.
• Hands-on experience in SAP MM module is an added advantage.

Responsible for managing Stores operations and supporting Purchase activities to ensure smooth material availability for plant operations.

Look after the requirements of all Plants hence good communication, Manage the entire procurement lifecycle for assigned projects, including sourcing, vendor selection, negotiation, contract management, and performance monitoring.
