Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Supervise end‑to‑end store operations including receipt, storage, preservation, and issuance of all engineering spares, consumables, fuels, and critical equipment.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records through ERP systems (SAP/Oracle/Maximo or similar).
  • Ensure timely inspection of incoming materials, documentation accuracy, and compliance with quality norms.
  • Monitor stock levels, safety stocks, reorder points, and highlight shortages proactively to avoid plant downtime.
  • Ensure efficient material handling, warehouse layout planning, and adherence to FIFO/FEFO and preservation guidelines.
  • Support annual budgeting, stock valuation, and inventory audits (internal and statutory).
  • Coordinate with Procurement, Maintenance, Operations, Finance, and Quality teams for material planning and issue resolution.
  • Implement and monitor safety protocols within the store premises as per power plant standards.
  • Drive continuous improvement in stores processes, cost optimization, and digitalization initiatives.
  • Lead, train, and supervise store staff, ensuring high levels of productivity and service.

Qualifications

Educational Qualification:

  • Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, or
  • Graduation with specialized training in materials management (e.g., diploma in SCM, stores, or logistics)
