The Store Supervisor will oversee end-to-end store operations within the manufacturing facility. This role ensures the timely receipt, proper storage, accurate inventory tracking, and efficient issuance of materials to support uninterrupted production. The position also focuses on maintaining optimal stock levels and implementing effective storage and handling practices.
Key Responsibilities
1. Material Receipt & Inspection
Receive materials from suppliers as per purchase orders.
Coordinate with the Quality Control team for inspection and approvals.
Maintain accurate documentation, including Goods Receipt Notes (GRN).
Report any discrepancies, shortages, or damages to the Purchase team.
2. Storage & Preservation
Store materials in designated locations following standard guidelines.
Ensure proper labeling, binning, and identification of all items.
Implement FIFO (First In, First Out) practices where applicable.
Maintain safe storage conditions to prevent damage or loss.
Ensure cleanliness and organization of the store area.
3. Material Issue to Production
Issue materials against approved requisitions.
Ensure timely availability of materials to avoid production delays.
Maintain accurate records of all issued materials.
Coordinate closely with production teams on material requirements.
4. Inventory Management & Tracking
Maintain accurate stock records (bin cards and ERP systems).
Monitor inventory levels and initiate timely reordering.
Conduct periodic physical stock verification and cycle counts.
Investigate and report inventory discrepancies.
Track fast-moving and slow-moving inventory items.
5. Store Systems & Compliance
Maintain proper documentation of all store transactions.
Improve storage systems and optimize layout efficiency.
Ensure compliance with safety standards and company policies.
Assist in internal and external audits.
6. Team Supervision
Supervise and guide storekeepers and store assistants.
Ensure team productivity and adherence to processes.
Required Skills & Competencies
Strong knowledge of inventory and warehouse management systems
Experience in manufacturing store operations
Familiarity with ERP systems (SAP, Tally, Oracle, etc.)
Good communication and coordination skills
Basic understanding of safety standards and material handling
Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities
Educational Qualification
Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Commerce, or related field (preferred)
Experience Required
35 years of experience in factory/store or warehouse operations
Prior team handling or supervisory experience is an advantage
