POSITION OVERVIEW
The Wealth Management (WM) Trust team (Taiwan) is responsible for ensuring the efficient and compliant processing of trust activities, including the settlement of securities trades. This role plays a critical part in maintaining operational excellence and regulatory compliance for trust operations in the APAC region.
The Securities Settlement Specialist is responsible for: Processing the daily operations of trust activities, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. Monitoring settlement fails, investigating root causes, and executing remediation actions. Ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Execute end‑to‑end settlement of equity, mutual‑fund, foreign‑bond, and structured‑product trades for trust accounts; verify trade details, confirm receipt of securities/cash, and post settlement entries.
- Identify settlement fails, analyse root causes, and lead corrective actions (e.g., trade re‑submission, collateral adjustments) within the defined SLA.
- Spot potential risk exposures, document mitigations, and escalate issues that exceed pre‑approved thresholds.
- Continuously review settlement workflows, propose automation or procedural tweaks, and drive implementation of approved changes.
- Support special projects, system upgrades, or regulatory change programmes as directed by management.
- Document best practices, mentor junior team members, and contribute to the team's learning library.
REQUIRED EDUCATION, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE (MUST‑HAVE)
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent (3 years) in Business, Finance, or a related field.
- Proficiency with settlement platforms (e.g., ClearPar, Euroclear, local CSD) and trade‑capture systems.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite, with advanced Excel skills being highly valuable.
- Product knowledge of equity, mutual funds, foreign bonds, and structured products.
- At least 3 year of relevant experience in a similar domain.
- Good understanding of equity, mutual‑fund, foreign‑bond, and structured‑product product features.
