Function Overview

GIC Sales Strategy & Intelligence team partners with our global General Mills sales teams in providing them with analytical horsepower and enable business continuity so they can focus on core activities - Selling, driving distribution gains and optimizing merchandising plans to deliver sales volume targets. We enable customers pricing & promotion strategies across the global markets through our focused capabilities of Sales Execution, Trade & Strategic Revenue Management, eCommerce and Category Management. Teams within function are aligned to the above focused capabilities for each of our markets and each team member specializes in domains of Advanced Analytics, Visual Insights & Planogramming.

ROLE OVERVIEW :

As an Assistant Manager on the Sales & Commercial Capabilities team, you will lead a high-performing team of 8-10 analysts that partners across Region Sales Execution and Trade Planning in US markets to drive growth and advance commercial capabilities. You will lead end-to-end retail trade planning activities and build scalable processes to transform how we work, as well as build reporting and insights capabilities that enable data-driven decision making for customer, category, and channel growth.

This role combines team & process leadership with hands-on execution: you will leverage proof of concepts, drive standardization, and implement innovative solutions that accelerate growth and strengthen commercial capabilities. You will manage and mentor team members to deliver sophisticated reporting, tools, and compelling presentations that showcase actionable insights and strong business acumen. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES :

Advance Capabilities

. Lead, coach, and develop a team of 8-10 analysts - setting clear goals, managing performance, and building a strong talent pipeline and succession bench.

. Drive strong engagement with Regional Sales teams through effective stakeholder management and proactive consulting.

. romote and cross-sell Sales & Commercial Capabilities and best practices at organizational forums to scale impact across markets and channels.

. Lead and continuously improve trade planning processes to ensure plans are data-driven, accurate, customer-centric, and aligned to commercial priorities.

. Develop new solutions and capabilities to support sales, trade, and omni-channel strategies - including standard reporting, self-serve dashboards, and advanced insight frameworks.

Act as a subject matter expert (SME) on trade planning and sales analytics to close market knowledge gaps and enable collaboration-driven success across stakeholders.

Executional Excellence

. Ensure timely, accurate, and high-quality delivery across all workstreams, with clear SLAs and expectations aligned to stakeholder needs.

. Establish robust process planning and tracking mec hanisms for seamless execution across trade planning cycles, reporting calendars, and continuous analytics support.

. Champion standardization across processes, markets, and verticals (especially in trade planning, reporting, and insights) to enhance consistency, comparability, and re-usability.

. Optimize resource allocation, utilization, and capacity planning for maximum efficiency and to balance BAU, projects, and innovation work across the team.

. Advance process and capability maturity through Continuous Improvement frameworks, ensuring documentation, governance, and continuous upskilling are in place.

. Maintain 100% compliance with Business Continuity Plans (BCP) and ensure crisis readiness across critical reporting and planning processes.

. Drive effective stakeholder engagement to achieve superior customer satisfaction, acting as the primary point of contact for escalations and strategic discussions.

Align with senior leadership to manage annual performance cycles and support employee career development, including development plans, coaching, and recognition.

Fund our Future and Inculcate Continuous Improvement Mindset

. Drive Continuous Improvement by identifying and implementing automation, standardization, and cost-saving initiatives across trade planning, reporting, and analytics processes to enhance efficiency.

. Influence and collaborate to build credibility as an SME, engage stakeholders, and foster cross-functional partnerships that deliver holistic, end-to-end solutions.

Mentor team members to become SMEs design training programs and knowledge-sharing forums to strengthen functional and organizational capabilities.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION :

Experience :5-8 years of Business Reporting, Sales & Trade Analytics & Visualization experience in CPG industry (or related) with People and Career Management responsibilities 2 years of People Management

Education - Full time Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) from an accredited university (Mandatory- Note: This is the minimum education criteria which cannot be altered)

Strong command over oral and written English

Demonstrated multitasking ability - able to work across a host of tools/databases and software/platforms effectively to deliver superior results.

. Strong leadership skills with a track record in career management, talent development, and mentorship - particularly in leading process based or reporting teams.

. Strategic mindset with the ability to deliver real-time solutions, drive process transformation (especially in trade planning and reporting), and take calculated risks.

. Proven project leadership and capability to design, execute, and market innovative solutions and proof of concepts in the commercial capabilities space.

. Advanced problem-solving and analytical skills with strong cross-functional business acumen, including understanding of sales, trade, category, and revenue management levers.

. Excellent communication and influencing skills, combined with tech and data savviness to lead innovation, evangelize standard solutions, and drive adoption across markets and stakeholders.
