Position Overview
To ensure a safe working environment by implementing and monitoring safety protocols, conducting risk assessments, and ensuring compliance with statutory regulations in the manufacturing facility.
ROLE
Key Responsibilities
Safety Compliance & Monitoring
- Ensure adherence to local, state, and national safety regulations (e.g., Factories Act).
- Conduct regular safety audits, inspections, and hazard identification across all departments.
- Monitor use of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) and enforce safety discipline.
- Patrol the work site periodically to verify that the work is carried out by contractor under safe conditions, with no violations of SHE requirements given by company.
- Assist to evaluate risk for all activities & integrate SHE requirements for effectively managing the risk while planning for the activity.
- Form Site SHE committee and act as a Secretary. Organize SHE committee meeting and prepare MOM of the same.
- Arrange SHE walk down along with SHE committee members and observations shall be forward to contractor through site In charges. Follow up for compliance.
- Advice promptly the contractor's supervisors and workers for the corrective action if any unsafe conditions or violations are observed.
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain safety records including incident logs, audit reports, and statutory compliance documents.
- Prepare monthly safety dashboards and submit reports to management and regulatory bodies.
- Document and investigate accidents, near-misses, and unsafe conditions.
- Check each work procedure from the SHE point of view and advise the contractor's supervisors before commencement of work and/or while working.
- Investigate incident and accident and report to Project Safety Manager or Territory Safety officer.
Training & Awareness
- Organize safety induction programs for new employees and contractors.
- Conduct safety trainings based on Tata Group Safety Standards
- Conduct regular safety drills (fire, chemical spill, electrical hazard) and toolbox talks.
- Conduct Tool Box talks along with Site Engineers/ supervisors.
- Promote safety culture through posters, campaigns, and employee engagement.
Emergency Preparedness
- Ensure for availability of Emergency response system
- Maintain and test emergency response plans for fire, chemical leaks, electrical hazards, and natural disasters.
Environmental & Health Oversight
- Monitor environmental parameters such as air quality, noise levels, and waste disposal.
- Ensure compliance with environmental norms and hazardous material handling protocols.
- Support health surveillance programs and occupational health initiatives.
Essential Attributes
