Job Description

Role Overview:

Responsible for strategic sourcing and purchasing of nutraceutical/pharmaceutical raw materials, including vendor development, cost optimization, and ensuring uninterrupted availability of quality materials aligned with production and business requirements.

Work Exp: 8 - 10 yrs of experience in raw material sourcing and purchasing within nutraceutical/pharma/food supplement industry.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead sourcing and purchasing of APIs, excipients, herbal extracts, amino acids, vitamins, minerals, and specialty ingredients.
  • Identify, evaluate, and develop reliable domestic and international vendors to ensure a robust supply base.
  • Drive price negotiations, cost optimization initiatives, and long-term commercial agreements.
  • Oversee purchase order management, supplier coordination, and ensure timely delivery of materials.
  • Collaborate with QA/QC and regulatory teams to ensure vendor compliance, documentation (COA, GMP, DMF where applicable), and audit readiness.
  • Maintain and regularly update vendor database, sourcing records, and inventory planning inputs.
  • Monitor market trends, supply risks, and raw material price fluctuations to support strategic decision-making.
  • Coordinate with production, planning, inventory, and logistics teams to ensure seamless material flow, including import processes and documentation.
  • Support risk mitigation strategies by identifying alternate sources and ensuring supply continuity.

Qualification

  • Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy / Chemistry / Life Sciences / Biotechnology / Supply Chain.
  • MBA in Supply Chain / Operations will be an added advantage.

Desired Candidate Profile:

  • Strong understanding of nutraceutical ingredients, global sourcing markets, and regulatory considerations.
  • Proven skills in negotiation, vendor management, and cost control.
  • Good analytical, communication, and cross-functional coordination skills.
  • Working knowledge of ERP systems and advanced MS Excel.
