Job Summary

The Assistant Purchase Manager supports the procurement function by ensuring timely and cost-effective purchasing of raw materials, packaging materials and services required for dairy production. The role involves vendor coordination, purchase order management, inventory monitoring, and maintaining procurement records while ensuring compliance with quality and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in sourcing and purchasing raw materials, packaging materials, and services.
  • Prepare and process purchase orders (POs) according to company requirements.
  • Ensure timely availability of materials to avoid delays.
  • Monitor purchase prices and support cost optimization initiatives.
  • Identify, evaluate, and maintain relationships with approved suppliers and vendors.
  • Compare supplier quotations and assist in negotiation of price, payment terms, and delivery schedules.
  • Track supplier performance including quality, delivery timelines, and service.
  • Coordinate with warehouse and production departments to monitor stock levels.
  • Ensure optimal inventory levels for production continuity.
  • Assist in planning procurement based on production forecasts and demand planning.
  • Maintain procurement records such as quotations, purchase orders, invoices, and contracts.
  • Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies, food safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Support audits and maintain proper documentation for compliance.
  • Support the Purchase Manager in budget planning and cost-saving initiatives.
  • Analyze market trends materials.

Requirement:

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Dairy Technology, or related field.
  • 56 years of experience in purchasing, preferably in the dairy or food processing industry.
  • Vendor negotiation and relationship management
  • Knowledge of dairy raw materials and packaging procurement
  • Inventory management
  • Cost analysis and budgeting
  • ERP/SAP procurement systems
  • Strong communication and analytical skills
