The Assistant Manager in PR will play a key role in helping to shape the school's public image and stakeholder engagement strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in developing and implementing the overall public relations strategy for the school.
- Maintain and build strong media relationships across national and regional outlets (print, digital, and broadcast).
- Pitch stories proactively to secure high-impact media coverage for key initiatives, programs, and personalities from the school.
- Write and edit press releases, media advisories, briefing documents, leadership quotes, op-eds, speeches, newsletters, FAQs and media kits.
- Organise and manage press briefings and campus media visits.
- Support PR planning, media coordination and media coverage for school events, faculty achievements, research publications, and student success stories.
- Monitor media coverage and create periodic reports with insights and recommendations.
- Support crisis communication efforts, ensuring consistent and accurate messaging.
- Work closely with marketing, admissions, alumni, and other teams to ensure message alignment.
- Manage PR agency relationships and ensure deliverables are met on time and within budget.
- Assist in managing the school's online presence on platforms like LinkedIn, Twitter, and Instagram for PR-related activities.
- Stay updated with trends in higher education and media to leverage timely PR opportunities.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, or related field.
- A Master's degree (MBA) is a plus.
- 46 years of experience in a PR role, preferably in the education, corporate, or media sectors.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. Proficiency in Hindi and/or other regional languages is a plus.
- Strong media network and experience in organizing press events.
- Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines.
- Knowledge of PR tools (e.g., Meltwater, Cision, or similar) and social media platforms.
