Job Summary

Emerson Automations Solutions MEA is inviting Applications for the position of Project Manager for it's Flow Control Valves Business Unit to be stationed at FCEC Chennai.

The Project Manager should be capable of supporting large and medium size projects with Control Valves destined for mainly Oil & Gas , Petrochemicals ,Power , Metals & Mining industries . The candidate should be able to support the customer facing Project Manager in MEA during the complete execution cycle of the project, including techno commercial support during project pursuit phase.The Project Manager in MEA has the overall responsibility and authority for the implementation and execution of Customer projects as per the FCV PMO process.

This includes having a complete understanding of the project scope (technical & commercial) and requirements and having shared ownership for timely approvals, timely delivery, profitability, price uplift and final hand off. The Project Manager has shared responsibility for developing the Project Plan and is responsible to the Customer, the Contractor, Impact Partners or Regional Sales Office and the Company for overall success and execution of the project.

This job is based in FCEC, Chennai India and will be participating in projects in Emerson MEA and in other offices in Emerson as needed.

Job Responsibilities

• Coordinate and support several KOB1 - large, highly complex, and multi-national projects during pursuit and execution phases with a PM in MEA taking the lead and own KOB2 projects (medium complex projects).

• Participate in the quotation strategy meetings with Project Team & sets proposal schedule with due dates.

• Participate and support in the negotiation of the initial scope of the project, change orders, progress payments, understand commercial terms and conditions and all additions or expansions to the project with the Customer, Impact Partners/Regional Sales Office and Global Industry Sales personnel.

  • Support in the Lead-Time and Comments to the Manufacturing Specs during the pursuit phase
    • Support in Approval of the lead-time commitment, especially during negotiations
    • Support in approval of any deviations to the Comments to the Manufacturing Specs and understand comments to the Commercial T&C's, Legal T&C's ,Bank Guarantees and Technical Product Specifications.
    • Participate in joint project review/discussion with the pursuit team
    • Understand and keep updated on the basic product designs , manufacturing process, quality systems, product selection & sizing tools, International design, testing & NDE standards.

• Support internal and external communication meetings at End User / EPC locations/countries, intercompany locations to ensure alignment on project schedule & execution plan
  • Support the Customer Post Award meeting (or Pre-PO meeting) with end users / EPCs when the order is committed to Emerson
  • Support the Internal Kick-off Meeting with Virtual Project Teams (Project Pipe Team) and resource managers in MEA & other world areas (as needed) to resolve all open issues and provide clarity to the Execution Plan
  • Coordinate the Pre Inspection meeting with the end user's Inspector, EPC QC team, TPIs and achieve clarity to the inspection requirements and process.
    
    
• Support the MEA PM to conduct & complete the PO-to-Quote reconciliation process, which includes resolving all issues prior to PO Acceptance.
  
  
• Work with Internal Project Managers & Resources Managers at both MEA Operations & other world area Operations to develop the overall Project Plan that includes schedules, milestones, procurement strategy, execution strategy, financial targets, resources, communications and considerations of risks.
• Coordinate with the PM to ensure project team is aligned with project plan & conduct regular progress reviews meetings with them
  
  
• Participate with PM for alignment with the Customer on the FCV Commitment Dates and the Customer PO Dates including milestone dates for drawing and procedure submittals, drawing and procedures approvals, equipment inspection notifications, and Ready for Inspection dates.
  
  
• Effectively participate in Virtual Project Team (Project Pipe Team) including plant project personnel who are responsible for executing portions of the project. Provide input for performance evaluations on the projects handled.
  
  
• Support with data for preparing financial targets and metrics for the project with the help of the Project Financial Analyst.
  
  
• Coordinate manufacturing sites by taking into account material costs, project site location and best cost country capabilities through effective planning, scheduling and management. Coordinate with project procurement manager, factory project teams and interco project teams for this purpose.
  
  
• Interface and continuously communicate with the Customer, Contractor and Impact Partners throughout the life of the project to provide updates, milestones, and progress.
• Work with the KOB3 Team, Impact Partners to finalize completion of the project including the MRO handoff and documentation.

• Conduct close-out meetings with customers, EPCs once the execution is completed.

• Recognise and accept HSE Roles & Responsibilities as defined in Emerson's Company Procedures.

• Travel: Will be required based on project demands. Travel will be required to customer offices, end user sites, EPC engineering offices, sub vendors, various FCV factories.

Who you are:

• Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation or Chemical Engineering

• Experience in Control Valves field preferred.

• Experience in Upstream oil & Gas

• Valid PMP Certification or equivalent is preferred.

• 4 to 7 years experience in customer facing Project Management role, Inside Sales, &

  Application Engineering in industrial valves business environment / field measuring instruments / Metering integrators / OEMs in Measurement & Flow metering. Valves business includes automated & engineered pipeline valves, control valves, safety relief valves. Customers serviced to include End Users / EPC Contractors in process industries (eg: Oil & Gas, Petrochemical & refining & Power).
