5-8 years of experience in production department within a manufacturing setup, preferably HVAC overseeing assembly line operations
Position Overview
To lead and manage the assembly operations of Indoor Units (IDU) or Outdoor Units (ODU) for room air conditioners, ensuring high productivity, quality, and adherence to safety and delivery timelines.
ROLE
Assembly Operations
- Supervise and manage the end-to-end assembly process of IDU and ODU units.
- Ensure smooth coordination between sub-assembly stations (e.g., coil mounting, cabinet fitting, electrical wiring, compressor installation).
Production Planning & Execution
- Prepare daily and weekly production schedules aligned with sales and dispatch targets.
- Monitor line balancing and takt time to optimize throughput.
Quality & Compliance
- Ensure adherence to quality standards at each stage of assembly.
- Collaborate with the Quality team for in-line inspections and final product audits.
- Implement corrective actions for defects and process deviations.
Team Leadership
- Manage and train line operators, supervisors, and technicians.
- Promote a culture of safety, discipline, and continuous improvement on the shop floor.
Equipment & Maintenance
- Coordinate with maintenance for uptime of assembly tools, jigs, fixtures, and conveyors.
- Ensure calibration and upkeep of torque tools, leak testers, and electrical testing equipment.
Reporting & Documentation
- Maintain production logs, rejection reports, and daily performance metrics.
- Present shift-wise and monthly reports to senior management.
Essential Attributes
- Familiarity with IDU/ODU design and functional testing, Line balancing
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing, Kaizen, and 5S practices
