What are we looking for

We are seeking a highly detail-oriented and responsible Piping Design Engineer to focus on the power piping networks design for John Cockerill Energy Solutions products, primarily HRSGs (Heat Recovery Steam Generators) and Industrial Boilers. This role involves comprehensive 3D modeling, ensuring technical conformity to standards, and timely delivery of critical manufacturing documentation.

Job Purpose:

  • Responsible for power piping networks design of products within the Energy Solutions Business Line, mainly HRSGs and Industrial Boilers.
  • In charge of the spooling of piping networks in CAD software, integrating different equipment in the 3D model with particular attention to interfaces.
  • Assure the delivery on time of piping spools isometric drawings according to project milestones.
  • Responsible for delivering work in conformity with internal quality standards as defined in the QMS (Quality Management System) of the Energy Solutions Business Line.

Responsible for the delivery of piping isometric drawings and special items detailed manufacturing drawings with the following objectives:

  • Respect of the Design Process as defined in the QMS of the business line.
  • Technical conformity of drawings to internal standards and contractual requirements.
  • Supply of a fast and reliable service to the project teams to respect the document and equipment contractual delivery schedules of projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Application of the Design Process.
  • Check the completeness of inputs received from the Technical Project Manager and basic engineering department to proceed with work.
  • Integrate equipment into the piping networks in the 3D model.
  • Proceed with the spooling of piping networks in the 3D model.
  • Respect pipe stress analysis reports for piping hangers location.
  • Issue manufacturing documentation (mainly isometric drawings) in compliance with internal standards and contractual requirements.
  • Provide engineers with information needed for project progress.
  • Manage the mechanical interfaces between different equipment.
  • Issue manufacturing documentation in compliance with administrative standards.
  • Issue EBOMs (Engineering Bill of Materials) for raw material procurement.
  • Issue and update standard technical documentation.
  • Keep competencies updated with regards to the needs of the Business.
  • Be proactive in continuous improvement and REX (return on experience) processes.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • BE/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Certification in Piping Design Engineering.
  • Experience: 6-8 years relevant experience within an engineering context.
  • Specialist profile, available for temporary and short missions.

  • Basic knowledge of usual codes / norms and good practice rules (ASME and EN).
  • Mechanical drawings (cutting, machining, welding, assembly).
  • EBOM (Engineering Bill of Materials).
  • Knowledge of mechanical properties of steel elements (ASME and EN).
  • Reading of technical documentation.
  • Proficient in English, particularly in reading and writing.
