What this job involves and requires:

Payroll System Administration:

  • Lead end-to-end payroll system support, including system configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting for multiple states
  • Ensure payroll systems comply with federal, state, and local tax requirements and regulatory changes
  • Manage system integrations between payroll platforms and HR, Finance, and Legal systems
  • Oversee data validation processes to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance across all payroll systems
  • Serve as primary escalation point for complex payroll system issues and discrepancies

Advanced Data Analysis and Reporting:

  • Develop and maintain complex payroll reports and dashboards to identify trends, discrepancies, and optimization opportunities
  • Lead payroll system audits to validate accuracy and integrity of data processing
  • Create automated reporting solutions to streamline standardized and ad hoc reporting requirements
  • Provide strategic insights and recommendations to senior management based on comprehensive data analysis

Process Optimization:

  • Lead initiatives to streamline payroll system processes, improve efficiency, and enhance data integrity
  • Manage payroll system upgrades, implementations, and enhancements
  • Define and document payroll system requirements and specifications
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams and vendors to ensure seamless system operations

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in information system, Accounting or Finance.
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in payroll systems support and administration, with expertise in multi-state payroll operations.
  • Sound understanding of federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations.
  • Proficiency in payroll software and systems specifically SAP GV ADP and Workday.
  • Excellent analytical skills with a high attention to detail.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive payroll information.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with constant/tight deadlines.
  • Knowledge on MS Office Suite skills (Word, Excel, Outlook) with good command on Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification is desired
  • Experience with Payroll system implementations will be preferred.
