Overview

POSITION SUMMARY STATEMENT

This role is responsible for driving packaging excellence, strengthening technical capability, ensuring the smooth packaging operations at the CM sites. The position focuses on enhancing packaging performance, enabling operational efficiency, and ensuring strong cross-functional collaboration to support business growth and manufacturing excellence focused on the packaging lines. Candidate will be responsible for ensuring RFT product instilling controls at the Packing lines. The candidate will drive capability building across Contract Manufacturer teams and Herbalife ground staff by strengthening their technical expertise and deepening their understanding of packaging operations through targeted training and education programs. This role will champion continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing productivity and quality, while fostering strong cross-functional collaboration to effectively deliver on organizational objectives.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Support the development of packaging concepts for finalized products and materials in coordination with internal teams and Contract Manufacturers.

Plan and execute production line trials to validate packaging designs and processes.

Capture observations, analyze results, and provide structured feedback along with actionable recommendations to relevant stakeholders.

Facilitate alignment on improvements and ensure smooth implementation of agreed actions.

Provide technical support to the team members for understanding the packing concepts and troubleshooting of operational challenges.

Enable capability building through knowledge sharing, training initiatives, and on-ground coaching to strengthen packaging systems.

Work Closely with Packing engineering India and Global team for implementing the best practices at Contract Manufacturer facilities aimed to improve the line efficiencies/capacity/capability etc.

Ensure effective manufacturing representation in regional and Head Office meetings and forums.

Work closely with QA, Sourcing, and CM teams to ensure alignment and resolution of packaging-related challenges.

Support to business by conducting various tests like fill test, durability, runnability of packing materials during new product Introductions and sharing report with cross functional teams.

Work closely with key stakeholders (QA/Sourcing/CM teams) in identifying the root cause of the problems associated with the packing materials from the manufacturing perspective.

Coordination with CMs/QA team for identifying the root cause of the internal as well as external customer complaints and support with RCA/CAPA.

Lead the implementation of preventive maintenance to eliminate breakdowns and recurring failurers.

Visits to potential CMs for the packing capability assessment, identifying the improvement opportunities to support India Business growth. Conduct capability assessments of potential Contract Manufacturers to support business growth.

Work with CMs to drive capacity and capability enhancement, including development or upgrade of machine assets.

Lead the task forces or improvement initiative pertaining to packing materials / packaging from manufacturing perspective. Drive initiatives to minimize line losses associated with packaging materials.

Partner with core manufacturing team members for ensuring the right first time for the FG dispatched from the plants.

Support continuous learning and development initiatives to strengthen packaging systems and reduce losses arising due to PM components.

Ensuring support to Manufacturing leadership in identifying the sustainability opportunities and act on the selected items.

Build Strategies for manufacturing footprint expansion and prepare management reports. Contribute to strategic discussions on manufacturing footprint expansion

Education

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor in Packing Technology/Packaging Science/Engineering/ Mechanical

Skills & Competencies:-

  • Strong troubleshooting skills in packaging and manufacturing processes.
  • Results-oriented, self-driven, and proactive in driving tasks to completion.
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to align initiatives to broader business objectives.
  • Proven experience in project execution.
  • Sound understanding of mechanical engineering principles, including interpretation of engineering and component drawings.
  • Strong team player with the ability to collaborate effectively across functions.
  • Experience in leading and contributing to productivity and continuous improvement projects.
  • Familiarity with Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and their application in manufacturing environments.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office tools, including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.

Experience

  • 7–10 years of relevant experience in packaging and manufacturing operations.
  • Strong knowledge of various packaging and filling machines, with hands-on exposure to manufacturing environments.
  • Industry experience in Food, Nutraceutical, or related sectors is preferred.
  • Certification or working knowledge of Lean Six Sigma (LSS) / Six Sigma tools will be considered an added advantage.
