Responsibilities

  • Manage daily Client Reporting and Portfolio Performance Reporting to ensure accurate, complete, and timely outputs throughout daily/weekly/monthly/quarterly cycles.
  • Direct and mentor a team; set clear objectives, delegate effectively, remove roadblocks, and act as the point of contact for critical issues to ensure timely delivery.
  • Partner with Principal Global Investors (PGI) Shared Services, boutique teams, and external collaborators to align requirements, resolve issues, and improve reporting quality.
  • Apply strong controls and standard operating procedures to meet regulatory and operational expectations; track metrics and drive continuous improvement.
  • Understand front-to-back data flows; work alongside Information Technology (IT) to resolve data issues and stabilize/report through structured huddles and check-ins.

Key Responsibilities

  • Client and performance reporting activities (35%)
  • Plan and coordinate daily/weekly/monthly/quarterly reporting production; ensure accuracy, completeness, and timely delivery according to Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
  • Maintain control evidence, exception logs, and approvals; ensure consistent templates and disclosures.
  • People leadership and development (30%)
  • Mentor, develop, and motivate team members; provide timely feedback and objective performance evaluations.
  • Define roles, delegate work with measurable objectives, manage coverage, and hold the team accountable for outcomes.
  • Collaborator partnership and communication (15%)
  • Build positive relationships with head office and boutique collaborators; communicate status, risks, and decisions transparently.
  • Manage conflicts constructively; ensure clear handoffs with Shared Services and external partners.
  • Process improvement, metrics, and planning (10%)
  • Contribute to planning and operating model improvements; identify low-value work and streamline workflows.
  • Use metrics, huddles, and check-ins to monitor efficiency, quality, and capacity; recommend resource adjustments.
  • Risk, compliance, and decision-making (5%)
  • Apply operational and regulatory procedures; perform root cause analysis for issues and implement corrective/preventive actions.
  • Advance material risks promptly with recommended options.
  • Data flow and systems collaboration (5%)
  • Chart front-to-back data flows; collaborate with IT and business data owners to address breaks and implement alternative solutions that satisfy reporting goals.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, economics, or business (or equivalent) with 10–12 years of experience in investment, asset management, mutual fund operations, or a related field.
  • Working knowledge of investment products and services, performance calculation, securities processing, trade life cycle, and corporate actions.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, relationship building, delegation, and presentation skills; diligent and adaptable in changing (VUCA) environments.
  • Able to prioritize, make sound decisions, and deliver consistent results under deadlines; open to feedback and continuous improvement.
  • Tools/Tech: Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word; collaboration tools (e.g., Microsoft Teams); data visualization (Power BI); performance/reporting platforms (Eagle, Factset); workflow/ticketing tools (JIRA); document repositories (e.g., SharePoint or TBD).
