Assistant Manager - Network Security

• Install, configure, and manage FortiGate firewalls to ensure network security.
• Monitor and analyse firewall performance, logs, and incidents.
• Perform regular firewall rule audits and optimize configurations for efficiency and security.
• Design, implement, and maintain secure network infrastructure.
• Ensure proper configuration of VPNs, IPsec, and SSL VPNs for secure remote access.
• Monitor network traffic to detect vulnerabilities, risks, and attacks.
• Troubleshoot network issues related to FortiGate firewalls, VPNs, and other network devices.
• Provide technical support for firewall and network-related incidents and service requests.
• Configure and deploy network devices such as routers, switches, and firewalls.
• Ensure the optimal performance of network infrastructure by performing regular tuning and optimization.
• Develop and enforce network security policies, procedures, and best practices.
• Continuously monitor network traffic and firewall activity using FortiManager, FortiAnalyzer, and other tools.
• Generate detailed reports on firewall activity, network performance, and incidents for senior management and security teams.
• Manage updates and patches for FortiGate firewalls and other network devices to ensure they are up to date and secure.
• Test and validate new firmware and software versions before deployment.
• Work closely with network engineers, security teams, and other IT departments to design, deploy, and support secure network infrastructures.
• Assist in troubleshooting and resolving network security-related issues with cross-functional teams.

Key Skills

• In-depth knowledge and experience with FortiGate firewalls (configuration, deployment, and troubleshooting).
• Experience with FortiManager and FortiAnalyzer for centralized management and logging.
• Strong understanding of network security protocols and practices (VPN, IPSec, SSL VPN, etc.).
• Familiarity with security technologies such as IDS/IPS, UTM, NGFW, and threat detection.
• Strong understanding of networking protocols (TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, VLANs, DHCP, DNS, etc.).
• Expertise in routing, switching, and VPN technologies.
• Ability to design and implement firewall policies, NAT (Network Address Translation), and traffic shaping.
• Proficient in configuring and managing site-to-site and remote access VPNs.
• Knowledge of IPsec, SSL VPNs, and other secure tunnelling technologies.
• Strong troubleshooting skills for network and firewall issues.
• Experience in using diagnostic tools like packet analyzers (Wireshark, tcpdump) and FortiGates diagnostic utilities.
• Proficient in using network monitoring tools like FortiAnalyzer, SolarWinds, or PRTG.
• Experience with SNMP, syslog, and network monitoring systems to track and report on firewall and network performance.
• Advanced skills in configuring high availability (HA), load balancing, and failover mechanisms in firewalls.
• Experience in segmentation and zoning of networks to ensure security across different regions.
• Strong communication skills to work with cross-functional teams, document configurations, and produce detailed security reports.
• Ability to create clear, concise, and comprehensive network security documentation.
• Willingness to stay updated on the latest network security trends, FortiGate firmware updates, and threat landscape.
