Location: Pune (Work From Office 5 Days, Supporting 247 Operations)

Job Overview

We are looking for a skilled L2.5 Network Engineer (Assistant Manager) with hands-on experience in Nokia networking technologies to support enterprise LAN, WAN, and Data Centre operations.

The role acts as a bridge between L1 operations and L3 SME, responsible for handling complex incidents, performing advanced troubleshooting, and ensuring network stability across environments where Nokia devices are prominent.

The candidate should demonstrate strong technical expertise, ownership, and an eagerness to learn emerging technologies and deepen understanding of enterprise networks.

Key Responsibilities

Operations & Incident Management

  • Provide L2.5 support for LAN, WAN, and Data Centre networks.
  • Handle P2/P3 incidents independently and assist L3 in P1 critical incidents.
  • Perform advanced troubleshooting and issue isolation for Nokia devices.
  • Ensure timely resolution within defined SLAs.

Nokia Platform Support

  • Configure, monitor, and troubleshoot:
    • Nokia 7750 SR Series
    • Nokia 7250 IXR Series
    • Nokia 7220 Spine-Leaf architecture
  • Support implementation and changes under L3 guidance.

Service Technologies

  • Work on configuration and troubleshooting of:
    • Epipe
    • IPIPE
    • VPRN
    • VPLS
  • Support MPLS, VPN, and QoS-related configurations.

Routing & Switching

  • Troubleshoot and maintain:
    • Routing protocols: BGP, OSPF, IS-IS, EIGRP
    • Switching protocols: STP, VLANs, HSRP, VRRP
  • Handle failover scenarios and routing issues.

Policies & Network Configuration

  • Assist in managing:
    • Prefix lists
    • Route policies
    • Access control policies
  • Implement changes as per design and standards.

Nokia Service Platform (NSP)

  • Perform monitoring and basic configuration tasks using NSP.
  • Support troubleshooting and reporting activities.

Data Centre & Enterprise Network Support

  • Work on enterprise network environments with high availability.
  • Support spine-leaf architecture operations and connectivity.

Escalation & Collaboration

  • Act as escalation point for L1 teams.
  • Work closely with L3 SMEs for complex issue resolution.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and vendors.

Learning & Skill Development

  • Actively enhance knowledge of Nokia technologies and enterprise networks.
  • Stay updated with new tools, automation, and networking trends.

Automation Support

  • Basic exposure to network automation tools (Python, Ansible).
  • Assist in execution of automation tasks.

Documentation

  • Maintain accurate documentation of:
    • Incident details
    • Configurations
    • SOPs and troubleshooting steps

Qualifications & Skills

Technical Expertise

  • Hands-on experience with:
    • Nokia 7750, 7250, and 7220 platforms
    • Routing & switching protocols
    • MPLS and VPN technologies

Networking Knowledge

  • Good understanding of:
    • Enterprise LAN/WAN/Data Centre environments
    • High availability and redundancy concepts

Tools & Platforms

  • Exposure to Nokia NSP
  • Experience with network monitoring tools

Additional Skills

  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
  • Ability to work in operational environments with ownership
  • Good communication and coordination skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Nokia NRS or equivalent certification
  • CCNA / CCNP or relevant networking certifications
  • Exposure to Arista devices (added advantage)
