Assistant Manager - Mechanical Design

Job Purpose

Plan and deliver on key engineering and process development for mechanical equipment s and systems for strip processing lines that enable to achieve operational excellence and support the growth objectives of the organisation.

• Development and sustenance of engineering equipments, processes and systems
• Meeting the targets around Quality, Delivery and Cost
• Innovation mindset to bring in new designs to improve functionality and reduce cost.

Key Responsibilities

• Understand the technical contract requirements and develop basic and detailed design for the same.
• Engineer needs to develop 3D models, 2D drawings, BOM and other documentation for engineering.
• Preparation of bought out specifications.
• Making design calculation.
• Work in team with group leaders, Engineers, and Designers within Engineering and other functions
• Generating bought out specifications and approving the offers received from suppliers.
• Co-ordination with manufacturing for discrepancies and deviations.
• Co-ordination with Erection and commissioning for site support.
• Keep themselves abreast of the new technologies and imbibe the same in product design and development.
• Perform CAD simulation for design optimization.

Education and Experience

• The candidate should be BE/B TECH in Mechanical / Production Engineering from Reputed college.
• 2 to 4 years of Experience in engineering design of terminal equipment related to steel processing or related to Mechanical equipment (material handling, heavy engineering)
• Candidateworked in multinational company will be an added advantage.

Background, Skills, and Competencies

• Auto CAD 2D, Autodesk Inventor for 3D Modelling
• Should have worked in Product Data Management Tools (like Vault)
• Engineering drawings skill and Mechanical design calculations awareness
• Ability to bring innovation in design to improve functionality and reduce cost.
• Good Interpersonal and communication (oral and written) skills.
• Ability to work in an Agile environment in a Collaborative way.
• CAD Simulation knowledge (static and dynamic) - (Nice to have)
