The ideal candidate should have strong experience in materials management within a manufacturing environment and should be able to ensure that raw materials, bought-out components, packing materials, consumables, and outsourced parts are available on time to support uninterrupted production. This role is important for improving material discipline, reducing production delays caused by material shortages, strengthening inventory control, and supporting the company's next phase of manufacturing growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage material availability for production, assembly, finishing, packing, and dispatch requirements.
  • Coordinate inward materials, raw materials, vendor-supplied components, consumables, packing materials, and outsourced parts.
  • Maintain inventory accuracy across stores, production issue, material receipts, stock transfers, and dispatch support.
  • Work closely with production, purchase, quality, planning, stores, and dispatch teams to avoid production stoppages.
  • Track material shortages, delayed receipts, excess stock, slow-moving items, and urgent production requirements.
  • Ensure proper material receipt, inspection coordination, storage, labeling, FIFO/FEFO discipline where applicable, and issue control.
  • Coordinate with suppliers and purchase team for delivery follow-up, material readiness, and shortage escalation.
  • Support production planning by confirming material availability before production execution.
  • Maintain stock records, inventory reports, GRN coordination, issue slips, material movement records, and reconciliation.
  • Support dispatch coordination by ensuring finished goods, packing materials, and customer requirements are aligned.
  • Improve stores discipline, material handling, space utilization, housekeeping, and physical stock control.
  • Support ERP or system-based inventory management as the company moves away from Excel-based processes.

What We're Looking For

  • Minimum 8 to 12 years of experience in materials, stores, inventory, supply chain, purchase coordination, or production support.
  • Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations, Business Administration, or a related field is required.
  • Strong experience in manufacturing materials management, preferably in plastics, automotive components, assembly, packaging, or high-volume manufacturing.
  • Good understanding of stores management, inventory control, inward materials, vendor follow-up, material issue, stock reconciliation, and dispatch support.
  • Ability to coordinate with production, purchase, quality, stores, suppliers, and dispatch teams.
  • Experience handling raw materials, bought-out parts, outsourced components, consumables, packing materials, and finished goods movement.
  • Strong follow-up discipline to prevent production delays due to material shortages.
  • Comfortable using Excel, ERP, inventory software, or stock management systems.
  • Good documentation skills for GRN, stock records, issue records, material tracking, and inventory reports.
  • Strong communication, coordination, planning, and problem-solving skills.
  • Hindi communication capability is preferred. Tamil or Kannada is an added advantage.
  • Prior experience in automotive components or plastic component manufacturing is preferred.
