Position : Assistant Manager Manufacturing

Location : Bengaluru, India

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Assistant Manager Manufacturing specializing in fabrication to enhance our production operations. The ideal candidate will bring strong expertise in fixture and tooling design, process optimization, and continuous improvement initiatives to improve efficiency, quality, and cost performance across manufacturing processes.

Main accountabilities of the role:

  • Develop and design fixtures, jigs, and tooling solutions to support fabrication and assembly workflows.
  • Evaluate current manufacturing processes and drive continuous improvements to enhance productivity, quality, and cost efficiency.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams (design, quality, and production) to ensure design for manufacturability.
  • Optimize fabrication processes such as cutting, welding, bending, and machining to increase throughput and minimize defects or rework.
  • Apply Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other process improvement methodologies to streamline operations.
  • Perform time studies, motion analysis, capacity planning, and process validation to support operational excellence.
  • Assist in new product introduction (NPI) by establishing scalable and efficient fabrication processes.
  • Diagnose and resolve production challenges by implementing effective engineering solutions.
  • Ensure adherence to industry standards, safety regulations, and quality requirements.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Production, or Manufacturing Engineering (or equivalent).
  • 8–10 years of practical experience in fabrication and manufacturing engineering environments.
  • Strong proficiency in fixture and jig design and development.
  • Experience with CAD tools such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or equivalent software.
  • Demonstrated success in process improvement and cost reduction initiatives.
  • Solid understanding of Lean principles, Kaizen, Six Sigma, or similar frameworks.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Effective collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work across teams.
  • Leadership capabilities with a proactive and solution-oriented approach.
