Position - Asst. Manager / Manager - Production (HVAC Manufacturing)

Location: Navi Mumbai

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced production professional to lead manufacturing operations for an HVAC manufacturing plant. The candidate will be responsible for driving production efficiency, quality compliance, cost optimization, and timely delivery while ensuring smooth coordination across production, maintenance, quality, and engineering teams.

The ideal candidate should have strong exposure to HVAC manufacturing processes including sheet metal fabrication, electro-mechanical assembly, refrigeration systems, and plant operations.

Key Responsibilities

Manufacturing Operations

  • Lead end-to-end manufacturing operations including production, planning, maintenance, and dispatch.
  • Ensure achievement of production targets in terms of output, quality, cost, and delivery timelines.
  • Drive capacity planning and optimum utilization of manpower and machinery.
  • Monitor daily production activities and resolve operational bottlenecks.

Production Excellence

  • Implement Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Improve productivity, reduce cycle time, and minimize wastage/rework.
  • Oversee fabrication, assembly, and testing activities for HVAC products such as AHUs, chillers, PACs, etc.
  • Ensure adherence to BOMs, engineering drawings, and standard manufacturing processes.

Quality & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with ISO standards and HVAC industry quality norms.
  • Drive zero-defect culture and continuous quality improvement initiatives.
  • Handle internal, customer, and certification audits.
  • Reduce rejection rates, warranty complaints, and rework issues.

Engineering & New Product Introduction

  • Coordinate with design and engineering teams for new product development and localization.
  • Support smooth transition from design to production.
  • Participate in value engineering and cost reduction projects.

Maintenance & Utilities

  • Ensure high machine uptime through preventive and predictive maintenance practices.
  • Manage utilities such as power, compressed air, and water systems effectively.
  • Coordinate with maintenance teams for breakdown resolution and process reliability.

Team Management

  • Lead and mentor production supervisors and shop floor teams.
  • Develop leadership pipeline and strengthen team capability.
  • Drive employee training, discipline, and performance management initiatives.

Safety & EHS

  • Ensure adherence to plant safety and environmental regulations.
  • Promote a strong EHS culture with focus on zero accidents and safe work practices.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • BE/B.Tech in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
  • 12-15 years of experience in manufacturing operations, preferably in HVAC or related industries.
  • Strong exposure to plant setup, scaling operations, and process improvement.
  • Hands-on experience in sheet metal fabrication, refrigeration systems, heat exchangers, and electrical panel assembly.
  • Knowledge of ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle.
  • Strong leadership, operational planning, and problem-solving skills.
