Job Description

Role: Assistant Manager/Manager – Finance Transformation
Location: Hyderabad

Darwinbox is the fastest-growing HR technology platform, designing the future of work by building the world's best HR tech, driven by a fierce focus on employee experience and customer success, and continuous, iterative innovation. We are the preferred choice of 900+ global enterprises to manage their 2.5 million+ employees across 116+ countries.

Darwinbox's new-age HCM suite competes with local as well as global players in the enterprise technology space (such as SAP, Oracle, and Workday). The firm has acquired notable customers ranging from large conglomerates to unicorn start-ups: DP World, Masafi, DIFC, Abu Dhabi Department of Finance, Nivea, Starbucks, Swiggy, DLF, Crisil, CRED, Vedanta, Mahindra, Glenmark, Gokongwei Group, Mitra Adiperkasa, EFS Facilities Management, VNG Corporation, and many more.

Our vision of building a world-class product company from Asia is backed by marquee global investors like Microsoft, Salesforce, Sequoia Capital, and Lightspeed Venture Partners.

Key Responsibilities
Darwinbox is building the next generation of its Finance function — one that goes beyond accounting, compliance and reporting to become a genuine business accelerator. We are looking for a Finance Transformation Specialist who sits at the intersection of Finance and Technology and helps drive this evolution.

You will lead and support initiatives that redesign core finance processes, build a centralized data and analytics backbone, drive AI adoption across the finance function, and elevate Finance to a value-driving partner to every business unit at Darwinbox.

You will work closely with Finance, Product, Engineering, Revenue Operations, and Business teams — translating business needs into technology solutions, automating manual workflows, and championing a culture of data-driven decision-making within Finance.

Finance Process Redesign, Systems & Digital Transformation
  • Map, analyze, and redesign end-to-end finance processes across Order-to-Cash (O2C), Procure-to-Pay (P2P), Financial Close, FP&A, Controllership, and Legal & Tax.
  • Identify and eliminate manual, repetitive, or error-prone steps; replace with system-driven controls and automated workflows.
  • Partner with Engineering/IT, Consultants on ERP enhancements, integrations — leading requirement gathering, solution design, UAT, and post-go-live stabilization.
  • Improve data flows and integrations between finance and business systems; act as the Finance voice in cross-functional product and technology roadmap discussions.
  • Build and maintain process documentation, SOPs, and process-flow diagrams; define and track process health KPIs (cycle times, error rates, SLA adherence) to drive continuous improvements

Centralized Finance Data Lake & Master Data Management
  • Own and drive the creation of a centralised Finance Data Lake and Master Data Management (MDM) programme — consolidating data from CRM, ERP, billing, HRMS, and other downstream systems into a unified, governed data store.
  • Define the Finance data architecture: data models, entity hierarchies, lineage documentation, and refresh cadences.
  • Ensure data quality, consistency, and auditability across all Finance reporting and analytics surfaces.
  • Collaborate with Engineering and Data Platform teams to build scalable pipelines; work with BI teams to surface clean, trusted data in dashboards and reports.

AI Adoption & Intelligent Finance
  • Champion and drive the adoption of AI across the Finance function — making AI a core part of how Finance operates, not an afterthought.
  • Identify and deliver high-impact AI use cases, including:
  • Intelligent cash-flow forecasting and scenario modelling
  • Anomaly detection in transactions, invoices, and expense claims
  • Natural language Finance co-pilot for self-serve reporting and analysis
  • Automated reconciliation and period-close acceleration
  • Predictive DSO management and collections prioritisation
  • Build AI literacy across the Finance team through demos, workshops, and structured adoption programmes; establish governance and data-privacy guardrails for responsible AI use.
  • Evaluate and deploy AI capabilities in partnership with Product and Engineering — covering both in-house builds and third-party tools.

Reporting, Analytics & Finance Intelligence
  • Build and maintain executive and operational dashboards in BI tools covering revenue, collections, costs, headcount, and other Finance KPIs; automate MIS and management reporting packs to eliminate manual assembly effort.
  • Develop a self-serve analytics layer so Finance business partners and business leaders can access trusted data without routing every query through the Finance team.
  • Perform deep-dive analyses on business performance, cost trends, and process bottlenecks — translating data into clear, actionable insights for senior leadership.

Finance as a Business Accelerator & Stakeholder Partnership
  • Elevate Finance from an accounting/reporting function to a proactive business partner — bringing Finance intelligence earlier into strategic conversations on pricing, deal economics, margin improvement, and investment decisions.
  • Structure and deliver Finance transformation projects end-to-end — scoping, design, implementation, and adoption; manage cross-functional stakeholders, project trackers, risk registers, and escalations.
  • Support Finance leadership on strategic and operational initiatives, contributing to a culture of curiosity, data-driven thinking, and continuous improvement across the Finance organization.

Who are we looking for
  • Finance & Domain Knowledge
    • Deep understanding of core Finance processes: O2C, P2P, FP&A, Controllership, Financial Close, and Reporting is mandatory
    • Working knowledge of ERP systems (NetSuite preferred; SAP, Oracle, or Dynamics acceptable) is mandatory
    • Familiarity with SaaS business models, ARR/MRR metrics, and RevOps workflows is a strong advantage.

  • Technology & Data
    • Strong hands-on skills in data analysis — Excel;
    • Experience with SQL, Python, Power BI or equivalent BI tools for dashboard and report development would be a plus.
    • Exposure to data engineering concepts — data modelling, pipelines, data lakes, or MDM — is highly valued.
    • Familiarity with AI/ML applications in a Finance or enterprise context is a strong differentiator.

  • Execution & Mindset
    • Strong analytical and structured problem-solving skills; comfort with ambiguity and greenfield problem spaces.
    • Self-driven with high execution focus; able to manage multiple concurrent projects and priorities.
    • Genuine curiosity about technology, AI, and the future of Finance.
Qualifications:
  • Must-Have
    • Chartered Accountant (CA), CMA, MBA (Finance), or equivalent qualifications.
    • 4–10 years of experience in Finance Transformation, Finance Operations, FP&A, Consulting, or Process Excellence roles.
    • Hands-on experience with ERP systems (NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, or similar).
    • Demonstrated experience in automation, data analytics, or digital finance initiatives.
    • Prior experience in SaaS, technology, or high-growth organizations is strongly preferred.
