Roles and Responsibilities
Advise and support cross-border M&A transactions, joint ventures and strategic investmentsCollaborate closely with business units on deal structuring and risk mitigation; and provide healthy challenge to business units on the viability of projectsCoordinate proper legal and compliance risk analysis through due diligence alongside with internal stakeholder and external counselAssist with post-acquisition integration, corporate secretarial works, corporate advisory and regulatory filings (e.g. competition law)Draft, review and negotiate a variety of legal documentation (e.g. corporate and commercial contracts)Support on compliance related matters, including providing advice, trainings, conducting third party due diligence, sanctions screening and assisting in internal investigations
Requirements
Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) or Juris Doctor (J.D.) from a recognised institution, preferably with qualification to practise law2 years or more experience in private practice/ in-house legal team, with expertise in corporate, M&A, compliance or related practicesAbility to work independently and collaboratively as part of a teamGood communication and organisational skillsGood attitude, proactive and eager to learnExperience in (i) shipping industry ; or (ii) familiarity with sanctions related procedures is a plus
