Role Details

Job Title: Assistant Manager – Legal

Location: Sanath Nagar , Hyderabad

Reports To: Company Secretary

Division / Function: CO SEC

Company: Zen Technologies Limited

About Zen Technologies

Zen Technologies (NSE: ZENTEC) is a 33-year-old listed Indian defence technology company, founded with the conviction that India must be unbeatable in war. Its products — combat training simulators, counter-drone systems, autonomous weapon stations, loitering munitions, and interceptor drones — are in active use with the Indian Armed Forces and are increasingly sought by defence forces globally.

Zen is not a trading company or a systems integrator dependent on foreign technology. It develops its own IP, manufactures its own systems, and intends to be globally #1 in every domain it enters. The company is targeting ₹3,000–4,000 Cr in revenues within the next 2–3 years, from a base built on proprietary technology and sovereign manufacturing capability.

We are looking for people who are motivated by what gets built, not just by what they earn. The systems Zen makes are what Indian soldiers rely on. A failure to deliver is not a business problem — it is a national security problem.

Why This Role Exists

As Zen continues to scale operations and expand its contract footprint across defence and commercial engagements, the complexity, volume, and criticality of contractual agreements are increasing significantly. This role exists to ensure that contracts are structured, compliant, and risk-mitigated to support business continuity and strategic growth

The Assistant Manager – Contracts will strengthen contract governance by ensuring robust drafting, review, and lifecycle management. The role directly impacts risk reduction, legal compliance, and operational efficiency by enabling structured contract execution and administration.

The Role

This role owns the end-to-end support of contract lifecycle management—from drafting and initial review to execution tracking and compliance monitoring. The individual will ensure contracts align with legal, regulatory, and organizational standards while supporting internal stakeholders and external partners.

The accountability boundary includes contract documentation, risk identification, compliance checks, and coordination with stakeholders until contract closure or renewal.

Key Responsibilities

1. Contract Drafting & Review

• Draft, review, and analyse contracts including NDAs, vendor agreements, and client contracts

• Identify risks, deviations, and non-compliant clauses and recommend corrections

• Ensure contracts adhere to legal standards and company policies

• Maintain consistency in contract templates and language standards

2. Contract Administration & Documentation

• Maintain organized contract repositories and documentation systems

• Track contract versions, amendments, and approvals

• Ensure all contract records are accurate, updated, and easily retrievable

• Support audit readiness through proper documentation

3. Compliance & Risk Management

• Conduct initial compliance checks for all contracts

• Identify legal and operational risks and escalate appropriately

• Ensure adherence to applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies

• Monitor contractual obligations and milestones

4. Stakeholder Coordination & Communication

• Liaise with internal teams, vendors, and clients for contract-related matters

• Coordinate approvals and ensure timely execution of agreements

• Address contract-related queries and clarifications

• Support negotiation discussions with relevant inputs

5. Contract Lifecycle Support

• Assist in contract amendments, renewals, and extensions

• Track deliverables, timelines, and obligations under contracts

• Support dispute resolution and issue handling

• Continuously improve contract management processes

What We Are Looking For

Background & Experience

• LLB qualification (mandatory)

• 5–8 years of experience in contract management, legal drafting, or similar roles

• Strong expertise in contract drafting and review

• Experience working with corporate/legal teams in structured environments

• Familiarity with compliance frameworks and regulatory requirements

The Right Mindset

• Detail-oriented with high accuracy in documentation

• Strong analytical thinking and risk assessment ability

• Effective communicator with negotiation capability

• Proactive in identifying issues and driving resolution
