Position Overview

Forest Essentials is a leading luxury beauty, wellness and natural products company committed to sustainable practices and quality excellence. We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Assistant Manager - Legal & Compliance to join our legal team. This role will be instrumental in managing legal matters, ensuring regulatory compliance, and providing strategic legal guidance across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage legal matters including contract drafting, review all types of business contracts.
  • Oversee compliance with all applicable laws and regulations including corporate law, labor law, product liability, data protection, and environmental regulations
  • Handle labor court matters, industrial disputes, and employment-related litigation with support from external legal counsel when required • Conduct regular compliance audits and maintain comprehensive compliance calendars for statutory filings, licenses, and regulatory certifications
  • Advise senior management on legal risks, compliance implications, and regulatory requirements for new business initiatives and contracts
  • Manage intellectual property matters including trademark registration, copyright protection, and brand compliance
  • Coordinate with internal departments and external legal counsel to resolve consumer and labor disputes.
  • Prepare legal documentation, memos, and compliance reports for management review and board meetings
  • Ensure adherence to company policies, industry standards, and best practices in legal and compliance matters
  • Audit legal registers, documentation, and records management systems with proper archival protocols

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) degree from a recognized university
  • Enrollment as an Advocate with the Bar Council
  • Minimum 4-6 years of experience in legal consulate with a FMCG company
  • Demonstrated experience in labor law, employment matters, and consumer cases
  • Proficiency in contract law, drafting, and negotiation
  • Strong knowledge of Indian labor laws, including labor codes, Industrial Disputes Act, and workplace regulations
  • Experience with court proceedings and labor court representation
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Hindi • Proficiency in MS Office and legal research tools

Desired Qualifications

• Post-graduate qualification in Business Law, Corporate Law, or specialized legal domains

• Experience in FMCG, wellness, or natural products industry

• Knowledge of GST, indirect taxation, and regulatory compliance

• Experience in managing multiple matters simultaneously with minimal supervision

• Familiarity with legal case management systems and digital documentation platforms
