Position Overview

JLL seeks an experienced Compliance Assistant Manager to oversee labor compliance operations across our one of the clients in India (Bangalore, Hyderabad, and Mumbai). This role focuses on ensuring comprehensive compliance management for JLL-managed services and subvendor relationships, maintaining the highest standards of regulatory adherence and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

Labor Compliance Management Oversee compliance with Indian labor laws including Contract Labour Act, Payment of Wages Act, and state-specific regulations across all three locations. Ensure JLL facility management operations and their subvendor networks maintain full regulatory compliance. Conduct regular compliance audits of contractor and subvendor operations, documenting findings and implementing corrective action plans.

Vendor and Subcontractor Oversight Manage compliance requirements for JLL's subvendor ecosystem, ensuring all third-party service providers meet client standards. Review and approve vendor compliance documentation, licenses, and certifications. Establish monitoring frameworks for ongoing vendor compliance performance and conduct periodic assessments of subcontractor adherence to labor standards.

Regulatory Reporting and Documentation Scrutinize regulatory filings to labor departments across Karnataka, Telangana, and Maharashtra. Maintain comprehensive compliance registers and documentation systems. Coordinate with legal teams on compliance-related matters and regulatory communications.

Risk Assessment and Mitigation Identify potential compliance risks in JLL operations and subvendor activities. Develop risk mitigation strategies and implement preventive measures. Monitor regulatory changes and assess impact on existing operations and vendor relationships.

Training and Process Development Design and deliver compliance training programs for JLL teams and key subvendors. Develop standard operating procedures for compliance management across multiple locations. Create compliance dashboards and reporting mechanisms for senior management visibility.

Required Qualifications

Education and Experience Bachelor's degree in Law, Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field. Minimum 5-7 years of experience in labor compliance, preferably in financial services or corporate environments. Strong knowledge of Indian labor laws and regulatory framework across multiple states.

Technical Skills Proficiency in compliance management systems and regulatory reporting tools. Advanced Excel skills for data analysis and reporting. Experience with vendor management platforms and contract review processes.

Core Competencies Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities with attention to detail. Strong communication skills for interfacing with internal teams, vendors, and regulatory authorities. Ability to manage multiple compliance workstreams across different geographic locations simultaneously.

Preferred Qualifications

Previous experience with multinational financial institutions and their compliance requirements. Professional certifications in labor law or compliance management. Experience managing JLL or similar facility management relationships. Knowledge of ESG compliance frameworks and sustainability reporting.

Key Performance Indicators

Maintenance of zero regulatory violations across all locations. Timely completion of compliance audits and regulatory filings. Effective vendor compliance score improvements and risk mitigation. Successful implementation of training programs and process enhancements.
