Job Description

ASSISTANT MANAGER - HSSE

Activities:

Know, respect and ensure compliance with the Company's Code of Conduct.

Implement HSSE objectives, policies, procedures to develop Zero accident culture, robust Technological risk management, Mature MAESTRO, effective Transport Safety Management system line with expectations of HSSE and Technical company rules as well as Local regulation with coordination with all key stakeholders at TEMIPL Lubricant operations (Operations ,Business ,Stakeholders etc). Deployment of MAESTRO and ISO processes (Lubes) for Lubricant business. (Details have been defined in Purpose cell for dedicated responsibility and accountability). Candidate will also share the responsibility of TEMIPL wide implementation coordination for certain processes

Job Scope:

Effectively deploy and monitor following HSSE topics in expectations of Local Regulations and TotalEnergies Company rules for Lubricant Business covering all activities of Lubricant business perimeter. Report effectiveness to N+1 and Management with aim to continually improve the maturity. Main areas of HSSE activities are mentioned below:

  • Report key HSSE and Sustainability indicators monthly, ensuring compliance with APME timelines.
  • Hold monthly safety committee meetings with the Lubricant management team and Corporate HSSE.
  • Perform monthly HSSE inspections in accordance with the HSSE Inspection Program, document findings, and track closure of identified issues with follow up with responsible person
  • Implement One Maestro processes for Lubricant business champions and provide quarterly updates to N+1 and Lubricant Management.
  • Ensure that all HSSE records are accurately maintained, both physically and electronically, in accordance with HSE documentation control procedures and the TEMIPL document retention policy.
  • Quarterly review HSSE and other regulations and report any updates.
  • Conduct, update, and review risk assessments with all stakeholders. Follow up on action plans, verify controls through task observations, and report any deviations. All tasks to be review with critical task team members annually with signoff and approval
  • Implement a systematic program to enhance safety culture across the Lubricant area, including contractors, by increasing the reporting of near misses and deviations from everyone.
  • Coordinate HSE event at site with stakeholders
  • Oversee and report compliance with the Management of Change process for the Lubricant division.
  • Investigate incidents, prepare REX, and report updates on actions taken. Prepare best practices and submit .
  • Update all emergency response plans, provide training for key responders, prepare and implement the drill schedule, and submit a monthly drill performance report to N+1.
  • Work closely with the project and maintenance teams to ensure compliance with the Contractor Management program. Maintain records of meetings, HSE plans, and Project Indicators under appropriate HSE supervision. Regularly check adherence to permit-to-work requirements and personal protective equipment protocols. An HSSE project report is expected once a month.
  • Establish chemical control procedures and conduct exposure assessments at required intervals.
  • Update HSSE action plans from visits, safety tours, and audits, and manage regular reports and review meetings.
  • Collaborate in cross-functional HSSE audits, including oversight of third-party plants and warehouses, as well as monitoring the implementation of action plans.
  • Oversee HSSE training, maintain the training calendar, and keep records—including safety pass induction—for all staff and contractors.
  • Review Pre-safety start-up checklist and join Go/No Go inspections as and when required
  • Oversee N-1 development, training, KPI deliverables, and feedback as part of the Manager-Coach Program.
  • Engage sales teams on a regular basis, conduct awareness sessions, and ensure all personnel complete mandatory HSE training.
  • TEMIPL-level HSSE coordination: The individual will also coordinate the following HSSE activities at TEMIPL.
  • Management of hazardous chemicals, materials, and substances, along with assessment and implementation of industrial hygiene controls
  • Environmental Protection (ERASAM)
  • -Management and deployment of Digital HSSE Tools

Qualification / Experience required:

. Qualification level required for the position: Bachelor's or equivalent level in engineering.

. Candidate must be well versed with Management system such as ISO 9001 ,14001 and 45001

. Technical skills required for the position: Engineering knowledge - Petroleum product knowledge . Risk assessment - Incident

. Investigation - Auditing Skill -Training - Management System

. Behavioral competencies required for the position: - Negotiation - Managerial Leadership, Communication -Team Management - Presentation -Influencing

. Language skills required for the position: English, Hindi and Marathi

. Certification required for the position: Yes, NEBOSH or equivalent HSE certification on Industrial safety

. Level of experience required for the position: 5 Years in Oil and gas.
