Job Description: Assistant Food & Beverage Manager
Position Summary
The Assistant Food & Beverage Manager supports comprehensive food service operations across designated client real estate portfolios as part of JLL's Experience Services Platform. This role oversees all aspects of food service programs including cafes, micro markets, conference centers, catering, office coffee & beverage services, and vending operations. The position requires exceptional client service delivery while ensuring operational excellence and exceeding client expectations in a fast-paced, high-precision environment.
Key Responsibilities
Food Service Operations Management
- Oversee daily food service operations and activities including third-party service contractors across multiple locations
- Serve as single point of contact for all food service-related matters and client communications
- Establish and maintain comprehensive food services management programs with appropriate staffing aligned to client operating requirements
- Manage catering operations for designated client business events and conference center activities
- Ensure all food items are transported, handled, and prepared according to highest sanitation and safety standards
Client Relationship & Service Excellence
- Proactively develop and manage client relationships ensuring expected service levels are consistently achieved
- Serve as primary escalation point for client inquiries and issues related to food services
- Anticipate and respond to client needs and concerns while ensuring zero safety or security incidents
- Comply with all client contract requirements and meet or exceed Key Performance Indicators
- Drive client-specific initiatives including technology rollouts, benchmarking, and best practice implementations
Vendor & Quality Management
- Monitor and manage third-party vendor performance related to food service program delivery
- Work closely with catering vendors to determine appropriate food quantities and service types
- Maintain excellent vendor management practices with strong knowledge of catering supplies, equipment, services ordering, and inventory control
- Investigate and resolve complaints about food quality and service in a timely and effective manner
Financial & Compliance Oversight
- Monitor and manage spend and financials related to food services programs
- Ensure operations align with financial processes and controls for effective financial management
- Maintain proper documentation and records (sanitation, food subsidy records, etc.) consistent with government standards
- Conduct regular operational reviews to identify opportunities for improving service, safety, and overall performance
Audit & Risk Management
- Design and implement procedures and audits to identify and escalate risks and issues
- Proactively identify and escalate risks including audit findings, client complaints, vendor service issues, and information security concerns
- Conduct hygiene audits both internally and through third-party agencies
- Ensure compliance with JLL and client Health, Safety, Environment, and Risk Management policies and procedures
- Coordinate equipment maintenance and repairs, waste removal, and pest control activities
Event & Special Services Management
- Manage indoor and outdoor events as a key element of food and beverage operations
- Oversee conference center catering and special event food service requirements
- Coordinate with various stakeholders to ensure seamless event execution and client satisfaction
Required Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's/Master's degree preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Minimum 5-6 years of progressive experience in facility management F&B services, specifically corporate catering
- Significant relevant experience in handling commercial kitchen operations
- Strong background in leadership roles with exposure to contract management and customer service
