The operations function within Setu ensures that the money flows and information flows between us and our partners are synchronized. The Settlements officer is single-handedly responsible to ensure that payments are settled on time, reconciled accurately and any exceptions are handled appropriately after flagging. We are looking for an Assistant Manager Controllership to join our Finance controllership team at Setu. This is a People Manager role. In this role, you will be responsible for leading key controllership verticals such as financial reporting, audits, compliance, and AP/payroll accounting. You will be working closely with internal stakeholders such as Financial Projection, Procurement, HR and Internal Audit team to ensure timely, accurate, and compliant financial operations.

  • Support management of financial records for legal entities, assisting with end-to- end accounting activities including timely book closures, audits, tax compliances, and coordination with local and group auditors.
  • Handle day-to-day financial operations and coordinate with relevant stakeholders to ensure accurate and timely accounting closures.
  • Assist in maintaining accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems in compliance with applicable accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and GAAP; support and maintenance of internal control safeguards.
  • Prepare monthly financial statements, financial packages, and management reports, and support analysis as required. Ensure adherence to established accounting policies and procedures.
  • Support initiatives to improve operational efficiency by monitoring costing activities and assisting in identifying cost-saving opportunities.
  • Assist in cash flow monitoring and forecasting by preparing cash flow projections and supporting reporting mechanisms to meet operational requirements.
  • Review and process financial transactions and reconciliations, ensuring controls are followed and issues are escalated appropriately. Support financial compliance activities by ensuring adherence to internal and external policies and regulations, and assisting in communication with relevant stakeholders.

Who is the right fit for this role

  • Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA)
  • 2+ years of experience in finance and controllership roles, preferably in fintech, tech, or

fast-paced growth environments.

  • Should have good working knowledge in IndAS/IFRS accounting standards.
  • Experience of working on Oracle ERP is preferred
  • Good Communication and inter-personal skills
  • Strong Business and commercial acumen

  • Analytical and problems Solving
  • Strong command over data integrity, reconciliations, and financial control
