Description

The Assistant Manager - Finance plays a crucial role in our Finance & Accounts department, overseeing financial accounting processes, statutory compliance, and timely financial reporting. This role is responsible for maintaining accurate books of accounts, supporting audits, and providing reliable financial information to support the finance function. The successful candidate will ensure adherence to accounting standards, internal controls, and company policies, contributing to the overall financial health and compliance of the organization.

Responsibilities

• Lead financial accounting processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards and internal controls.
• Oversee statutory compliance, including tax filings, regulatory reporting, and audit support.
• Prepare and submit timely financial reports, including monthly, quarterly, and annual statements.
• Maintain accurate books of accounts, including general ledger, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external auditors to ensure smooth audit processes and address any findings.
• Implement and maintain effective internal controls to mitigate financial risks and ensure data integrity.
• Provide financial analysis and insights to support business decision-making and strategic planning.
• Liaise with external stakeholders, such as banks, investors, and regulatory bodies, on financial matters.
• Stay updated on industry trends, accounting regulations, and best practices to enhance financial processes.
• Mentor and develop junior finance team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
  
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, with a preference for a professional accounting qualification (e.g., CPA, CA, ACCA).
• Minimum 5 years of experience in financial accounting, with a strong understanding of GAAP or IFRS.
• Proven experience in leading financial reporting processes and ensuring statutory compliance.
• Excellent knowledge of accounting software and systems, with the ability to implement and optimize financial processes.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet tight deadlines.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, for financial modeling and analysis.
• Willingness to stay updated on industry trends and best practices in financial accounting.
• A self-starter with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving financial issues.
