Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain environmental management systems (EMS) to ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements at the Singrauli thermal power plant.
- Conduct regular environmental audits and inspections to identify potential risks, non-compliances, and areas for improvement.
- Monitor and analyze emissions, effluents, and waste management practices to ensure adherence to environmental standards and regulatory limits.
- Coordinate with governmental agencies and regulatory bodies for obtaining and renewing environmental clearances, permits, and approvals.
- Lead initiatives for pollution control, waste reduction, and resource conservation aligned with Adani's sustainability goals.
- Prepare and submit detailed environmental reports, data, and documentation required by internal stakeholders and external regulatory authorities.
- Facilitate environmental training programs for employees to build awareness, competence, and a culture of environmental responsibility.
- Collaborate with operations and maintenance teams to integrate environmental best practices and mitigate environmental impacts during plant operations.
- Drive continuous improvement projects to enhance environmental performance, utilizing data-driven insights and latest technology.
- Manage environmental incidents and emergencies by conducting root cause analysis, implementing corrective actions, and communicating findings to relevant stakeholders.
- Support corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives focusing on environmental conservation and community engagement.
- Stay updated on evolving environmental laws, trends, and technologies to ensure the plant remains compliant and proactive.
- Partner with health and safety teams to align environmental and safety management systems for holistic risk management.
- Lead and mentor junior environmental staff, fostering skill development and team collaboration.
- Champion sustainability reporting initiatives, contributing to Adani Group's corporate sustainability goals and disclosures.
- Collaborate with external consultants and contractors to implement specialized environmental projects or assessments.
- Participate in cross-functional strategic planning to embed environmental considerations into overall business strategies.
Qualifications
Educational Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline is mandatory. - Master's degree in Environment Management or equivalent is preferred.
Certification Required
- Certified Environmental Professional (CEP) or equivalent certification is highly desirable. - Additional certifications in Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA), ISO 14001 EMS auditor certification will be advantageous.
