About The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Assistant Manager - Contracts to join our dynamic Contracts Management team. The ideal candidate will independently deliver highquality, clientready work with strong expertise in reviewing, drafting, redlining, and negotiating a broad range of commercial contracts. This role requires exceptional communication skills, attention to detail, a solutions-oriented mindset, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Review, redline, draft, and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements including: NDAs, Software License Agreements, Data License Agreements, Pharmaceutical Contracts, Publishing Contracts, Vendor Service Agreements, MSAs, SOWs, License Purchase Agreements, and Lease Agreements.
  • Engage directly with counterparties to negotiate contractual clauses.
  • Support the creation and improvement of contract negotiation playbooks and standardized templates.
  • Drive the entire contract lifecycle from initiation to closure.
  • Work closely with Quality Assurance teams to resolve queries and ensure 99-100% accuracy.
  • Collaborate as one team to deliver high-quality output across multiple contract processes.
  • Provide timely and professional updates to leadership and clients.
  • Manage deadlines, multitask effectively, and escalate issues promptly when required.
  • Maintain accurate time records and manage project-related documentation.
  • Provide input to IT and process teams to develop tools and workflow enhancements.
  • Contribute to client management through wellstructured communication and strong business acumen.
  • Demonstrate team spirit by supporting and guiding junior members when needed.
  • Actively participate in training programs and focus on continuous self-development.

What will help you succeed in this role

  • Experience: 5+ years of relevant experience (law firm or inhouse experience preferred).
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Law (LLB).

Required Skills & Competencies

  • Excellent English reading, writing, and communication skills.
  • Proven expertise in contract review, redlining, drafting, and negotiation.
  • Strong legal knowledge relevant to commercial contracting.
  • Ability to work with MS Word's redlining/track-changes functionality.
  • Strong process orientation, attention to detail, and high accuracy.
  • Data management and research skills (as required by practice groups).
  • Ability to work across tools, trackers, and spreadsheets.
  • Client management skills with the ability to deliver clear, concise communication.
  • Self-monitoring, self-motivated, and a proactive team player.
