Job Description

Title : Asst/Deputy Manager – Buying

Department: Operations – Supply Chain

Location: Navi Mumbai- Nerul

Reports To : Manager Supply Planning & Buying

Material Buying:

  • Translate full month production plan into requisite RM & PM qty.
  • Plan, develop, implement and evaluate processes for material delivery from supplier to point of fit.
  • Day-to-day order management and management of deliveries
  • Analyze master production schedules to calculate exact raw material requirements and establish optimal inventory levels, prevent shortages and reduce excess inventory.
  • Track plan versus actual, discussion and fix the gaps with manufacturing team.
  • Identify supply shortages or logistics risks, creating mitigation plans to ensure continuity.
  • Rough cut capacity planning.
  • Act quickly to solve supply chain disruptions, material defects, or schedule changes to avoid production downtime.
  • Utilize ERP systems (like SAP) to maintain data accuracy and create KPI reports on vendor performance and inventory turnover.

Cross-functional Collaboration:

  • Partner with the procurement, warehouse, and production teams to align material flow with business goals.

Qualifications

  • Education: Graduate BE/B-Tech + Master/MBA in supply chain management or Operations Management.
  • Experience: 4–5 years in supply chain, inventory control, or production planning.
  • Advantage:
  • Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP S4 HANA) and advanced Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong ability to forecast demand and interpret supply chain metrics.
  • Excellent negotiation, problem-solving, and cross-functional communication abilities.
  • Demonstrated broad understanding of purchase and supply chain processes
