Must have relevant experience of 4 to 9 years as Big Data Engineer or similar role
Minimum of 2 years of experience in Scala programming and SQL
Experience in designing, modifying, and implementing solutions for ingesting, provisioning, and processing data in Hadoop Data Lake for batch and streaming workloads using Scala & Apache Spark
Experience in debugging, optimization & performance tuning of Spark jobs.
Able to translate functional requirements / user-stories into technical solutions.
Good experience in developing and debugging complex SQL queries to derive business critical insights
Development experience in any of the cloud services: AWS/Azure/GCP
Responsibilities
3+ years of experience with Apache Spark in Scala
Deep understanding of Spark internalsDAG, stages, tasks, caching, joins, partitioning
Hands-on experience with performance tuning in production Spark jobs
Proficiency in Scala functional programming (e.g. immutability, higher-order functions, Option/Either)
Proficiency in SQL
Experience with any major cloud platform: AWS, Azure
Good-to-Have
Worked with Databricks, Snowflake, or Delta Lake
Exposure to data pipeline tools like Airflow, Kafka, Glue, or BigQuery
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and Git-based workflows
Comfortable with SQL optimization and schema design in distributed environments
