Senior Backend Engineer Cloud Platform / PaaS
Why This Role Matters
We're building a developer-first cloud platform that teams rely on to ship faster and operate at scale. As a Senior Backend Engineer, you'll own core PaaS services, solve hard system-design problems, and help shape the platform's technical direction.
What You'll Build
- Core cloud native PaaS and cloud platform services
- Highly concurrent, low-latency backend systems
- APIs and services used daily by internal and external developers
What You'll Do
- Design and ship cloud-native microservices end-to-end
- Solve complex problems in concurrency, performance, and scalability
- Design robust database schemas and data flows
- Own features from design production operations
- Review code, mentor teammates, and raise the engineering bar
- 47 years of professional backend engineering experience
- Strong coding skills in Java, Go, or Python
- Deep understanding of multithreading, concurrency, and async processing
- Strong experience with database design (SQL and/or NoSQL)
- Hands-on experience with Kubernetes and cloud platforms (AWS/GCP/Azure)
- Solid understanding of distributed systems fundamentals
What We're Looking For
- 47 years of backend engineering experience
- Strong in Java / Go / Python
- Deep knowledge of multithreading, async systems, and DB design
- Hands-on experience with Kubernetes and public cloud
- Strong system-design skills and product mindset
- Comfortable taking ownership in a fast-moving environment
- Kafka, queues, or event-driven system
Bonus Points
- Experience with multi-tenant platforms, PaaS
- Prior tech-lead or feature-lead experience
