Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive Quality Management Systems (QMS) for mechanical scopes of thermal power projects ensuring alignment with international standards such as ISO 9001 and project-specific quality requirements.
- Lead quality assurance and quality control activities for all mechanical equipment including boilers, turbines, pumps, piping, valves, and auxiliary systems from procurement through commissioning.
- Conduct detailed review and approval of mechanical equipment inspection and test plans (ITPs), quality plans, and material submittals to ensure compliance with project specifications and applicable codes.
- Coordinate and supervise inspection, testing, and certification activities performed by in-house teams and third-party inspection agencies ensuring adherence to defined quality standards.
- Analyze quality data, non-conformance reports, and audit findings to identify trends and root causes; develop and implement corrective and preventive actions to eliminate defects and improve process effectiveness.
- Drive supplier and subcontractor quality performance by conducting audits, capacity assessments, and regular feedback sessions to foster continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with engineering and project management teams to resolve quality-related issues promptly, minimizing impact on project timelines and costs.
- Facilitate quality training sessions and workshops for project staff and contractors to build quality awareness and capability across all levels.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards as related to quality activities, promoting a culture of zero harm.
- Prepare and submit comprehensive quality reports and documentation for project stakeholders and regulatory authorities.
- Engage actively in project review meetings and quality steering committees to represent mechanical quality interests and align quality objectives with overall project goals.
- Champion the adoption of advanced quality tools and digital technologies to enhance inspection accuracy, reporting efficiency, and traceability.
- Foster a collaborative and inclusive work environment consistent with Adani's organizational culture, emphasizing respect, ownership, and innovation.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent from a recognized university.
7-14 years of progressive experience in quality management within the thermal projects or power generation industry, preferably with exposure to mechanical systems and components.
