Job Title: Assistant Manager– Action Lab

Location: Bangalore, Karnataka

Travel: Frequent travel across the state

Reporting To: Executive Manager

Position Overview:

We are looking for an action research-oriented leader to anchor our Action Lab for S2P high school, PU and community.

S2P Career Planning for High school and PU colleges will be piloted in the coming year. A few PU colleges will be studied and intervened closely with the purpose of identify challenges, think through mitigation strategies, facilitate ideation, and ensure solutions are translated into impactful implementation of S2P Career Planning for Classes 8 to 12. This intervention will result in SOP for the same that can be used at scale. execution. Further, develop community intervention to bolster S2P Career Planning impact for students.

This role calls for strong action research approach, implementation capability, reflective learning, team leadership, and the ability to build programs that respond to reality rather than remain perfect only on paper.

Key Responsibilities:

S2P Program Implementation in PU Colleges

  • Lead and manage the team that supports teachers to implement the S2P program for Class 8 to 12 .
  • Ensure the team works closely with teachers and college stakeholders to strengthen the quality and consistency of program delivery.
  • Understand systemic, institutional, and classroom-level challenges that affect implementation.
  • Identify mitigation steps and practical solutions that can improve delivery in real contexts.
  • Facilitate brainstorming, ideation, and problem-solving with the team to respond to emerging implementation needs.
  • Ensure ideas and solutions are carried through to execution — not left at the discussion stage.
  • Keep student impact at the centre of implementation, ensuring the program helps students move toward informed life and career choices.

Learning and Improving Pedagogy

  • Closely observe how the program is experienced by students, teachers, and institutions in practice.
  • Identify operational, pedagogical, and contextual challenges that affect program delivery and student engagement.
  • Generate structured field insights on what needs to be strengthened, adapted, simplified, or redesigned.
  • Work with internal teams to feed learning back into program delivery approaches, tools, and processes.
  • Contribute to refining the implementation model so it is both effective and realistic in context.

Community Intervention and Aspiration-Building

  • Help envision, shape, and guide community-based interventions across select geographies in North and South Bengaluru.
  • Build approaches that strengthen the connection between aspirations nurtured in school and the choices students eventually make in life.
  • Explore ways to engage families, communities, and other local actors in supporting student ambition, continuity, and action.
  • Support the team in testing, learning from, and refining community-based ideas over time.

Team Leadership and Project Management

  • Lead and manage the team
  • Strong planning and feedback
  • Provide direction, coaching, and regular review to team members to ensure quality execution and continuous learning.
  • Build a team culture that values reflection, experimentation, ownership, and practical problem-solving.
  • Stakeholder Engagement
  • Engage effectively with Govt departments, Colleges, educators, students, communities, and other local stakeholders.
  • Build trust-based relationships that support collaboration, learning, and problem-solving.
  • Represent United Efforts and the S2P vision with clarity, credibility, and commitment in institutional and community settings.

Monitoring, Reflection, and Documentation

  • Develop simple and effective ways to capture implementation learning across both school and community work.
  • Track emerging patterns, challenges, and opportunities in the field.
  • Document insights, reflections, and recommendations clearly so they can inform internal decision-making.
  • Support a culture of evidence-based improvement across the work.

Who This Role Would Suit :

This role is suited to someone who has done action research and has an approach of developing systems and processes for scale.

The right person will be comfortable with ambiguity, attentive to nuance, and motivated by the possibility of empowering young people to move from aspiration to informed action

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Education, Social Work, or related field(PhD preferred)
  • 5+years of experience in pedagogy, action research, education leadership
  • Proven track record of working with Govt school students, teachers and inclusive education

Skills & Qualities:

  • Proficiency in English and Kannada
  • Proficient in using computers and comfortable to explore new technologies and challenges
  • Passionate about working for students and transforming their future
  • Humble, honest, collaborative and transparent
  • Empathetic, caring , collaborative and result oriented leader
